Changing Address Can Be Stressful!

I am moving address and for me the thing that is stressful is informing all the relevant people and companies of my new address. I have to change my address on my driving licence, car form, insurance, bank etc.... It is so much to remember and so little time to get it all sorted!! Do you hate that part of moving too?

I do hate that part. We have moved a lot over the last 6 years and that part is always a hassle.

@gudheart And it seems I always forget about letting someone know about the address change.

@simone10 I managed to change most of them now but my bank will take 24 hours to update so I can not order anything from online etc until it is updated. My car insurance will back to me within 48 hours with a new quote...hope it is not too high.

I have been through that enough, that I am not doing it anymore. I am wehre I want to be and I am staying here. The lst time I moved is after my divorce, and then my son and aughter in law helped me move. I thought that when I was in my lst house, that I would never have to leave it, but he decided otherwise. Anyway, I have been here for 8 years, and I don't intend to move.

@gudheart I have moved enough in my lifetime too, and I hated it every time. It was like starting all over again, buying things that I needed. I have been in my house now, for eight years, and I don't plan on moving anywhee else.

I hope I don't have to move again in a long time unless it is to a really nice bigger house, then it would be worth it!!

I understand that. When we shifted there was no email facility. We took out copies of a circular that was sent to each and every contact. Things panned out quite well. Some mail that was received at our old address was redirected to us.

It's been years (over 20) since I moved, but can't you go to the post office and give them your new address and have all your mail sent to you there? Then as your mail comes in and you make your next payment, you can tell them of your change of address.

I am moving out of my sister's house and back into my parents house so I don't need to redirect mail as my sister can just hand them to me. But it is just the stress of finding time to change it for the important people like Bank and Driving licence etc

@gudheart Oh, well can't your sister give you that mail too? When my daughter moved to a temporary dwelling, she had all her mail sent to me and even now that she has a house, she still has it sent to me, I guess she isn't sure how long she will be there.

@Carmelanirel2 Yep she will, but that is not the issue. It is that I have to still change the important company details or I could get fined.

Moving is an all around pain - the packing, unpacking, adjusting to new spaces and of course those pesky new address notifications.

It is the hard part. Not only informing all those you do business with, but all your friends and relatives as well. There was a time I moved so much a good friend of mine had my address written in pencil.

@gudheart We own this house and the mortgage is paid off so we have no reason to move, unless we find somewhere with lots of lakes and 74 degrees and sunny everyday lol.

I have been through it once, and it is a nightmare. You have to make sure that the cell phone bill gets to the right place, and you have to terminate the utility for the old house, and open a new utility for new place.

It's a hassle changing addresses when we move here. We have to request an official letter with our current address from the immigration authority. When the mail arrives we take it to the police station and have our ids updated.
