Watering my plants.

I woke up early to decide what to do first for the weekend. The morning was still cool so I started the sprinklers in the garden while I mylot. This is the first morning that I am truly by myself in 3 days and although I love my granddaughter dearly, I know that she has too much activity for my old bones to cope with. My rooted plants geet me and only ask for some water. I smile to them and try not to show favoritism I started with the hydrangeas as they need lots of water. I know that I will have to have a break from the computer to water my plants in pots. I have some chives (ciboulette) in pots and some leek seedlings that, for some reason, don´t want to grow. Such is garden: talking with the plants, waiting for their answers while the water flows and as I do this, the stress slowly goes away. Do you talk with your plants, friends? Does it help in any way? It sure helps me

I talk to my plants and ask them how they're doing. I try to give them the right balance between water and sunshine. As with kids, each has slightly different needs.

You are right! And plants notice if you don´t like them too much.

I talk to my plants, I think that they understand and appreciate. The hydrangeas demand plenty of water, I always water them twice a day in summer.

I have talked to my plants/flowers at times. I do agree that gardening can relieve a lot of stress. I can't wait to move into a house where we can grow flowers again.

I love the way hydrangeas can wilt so badly but as soon as you give them a drink they stand up again. My mother loved her garden and regarded it as therapy. You could always find her at the end of hose or else you'd hear her whistling as she gardened.

There are some plants that will respond immediatly to watering. . This year I have not been stingy with the water for my hydrangeas and they have bloomed beautifully even if the Summer at my city is very dry.

@marguicha You can turn pink hydrangeas blue by feeding them special food - or by plantings iron filings - or something similar - under them.

Commercial farming is quite another thing. But you might have a special plant in a container.

I also hear that talking with your plants has some type of magical effect. I have only one plant in my apartment, and it is not in the sunlight, and it tends to wilt after a few days with no water. That is the only time I remember to water it, and then, like magic, it springs back to life almost immediatley! Lol. Happy planting!

I'm only good at watering them but the trouble is which plant needs to be watered differently. but i water them all once in a day so that they wouldn't dry out.

Not all plants have the same needs. Leticia waters every plant every day and she has killed some of my cacti. Those have to be watered once a week in Summer.

Even in the smallest apartment you can have a couple of plants in pots. I have cacti in the window sill in my kitchen.

I have this problem with watering too. Two days ago I turned on the hose and rested in bed for 2 minutes. I fell asleep and remembered the water was still on
