My daughter had to cancel our shopping trip today because my granddaughter is not feeling well. She has croup and is on an antibiotic for it. Poor little bugger was up most of the night coughing.
I did sit around the house for a while before I headed out. The thought of going out into the cold didn't please me. But, then again, staying inside the house with no heat didn't thrill me either!
First stop was the Goodwill Store. I found a brand new Relic Crossbody purse. These normally sell for at least $37 new. I got it for $3.50!! I also purchased some clothes for my granddaughter. The baby clothes sell for .99 cents in the bargain bins. I got 5 items for her. I also found a skein of yarn for $2.79. It was a nobby textured lavender colored yarn that I'll use for making scarves.
Then off to Walmart for some essentials. My hubby loves Propel water, his favorite is Black Cherry. Our local Walmart does not carry the Black Cherry flavor, the one in the next state does. Go figure. Well, they only had 2 12-packs so I bought them both. Found a good buy on probiotic Greek yogurt for $3.19 that usually sells for $4.99. Also got my prescription glasses fixed (again), the screw was loose and the lens was about to fall out.
On the way back home I stopped at Ocean State Job Lots to return a present that I purchased for my DIL that was not what she needed. Of course I had to check out what they had that I couldn't live without. Found a few items.
Now I am sitting here, wrapped in a blanket and waiting for the hubby to get home with fuel for our tank so we can heat this place up again. Brrrrrrr. Good day for bargains, not so good a day to run out of heating fuel.

Oh, brrrrr. It seems it was a good idea to go somewhere else and be a little warmer. Great to find bargains, too.

I was warm in the stores. Kept my coat on while shopping so I was actually a bit too warm. LOL.
I love the thrill of finding bargains. Hoping to get my sister to go shopping with me tomorrow. We will probably only go to Aldi for groceries, but we always have such a good time when we shop together.

I did Jessa Lyn. Hope to stop at our local Goodwill and see what they have there. Haven't found a purse there in a long time. Was glad to find one at the store I visited yesterday.

Many years ago, we had an ice storm that knocked out our power. Normally it wouldn't have been a problem because the generator would automatically kick in, but the falling limbs had taken out the wires between the house and the generator. My daughter and I spent three hours meandering up and down the aisles of our local department store.. At least we were warm...we didn't spend even a dime. That's will power.

I love Ocean State Job Lot, we shop there often in Connecticut but I haven't seen any near me here in Florida but I do have a Big Lots. Sounds like you did some great bargain shopping. Our Good Will here is expensive I was pretty shocked since at home they are usually very reasonable.

Even at our local Goodwill you need to watch the prices. I have seen items that are close to being what you would spend to buy it new. I have actually asked the manager to give it to me for half price after pointing out that the price asked was what I would pay for it new. Sometimes I get the price I want, sometimes not.

I often times have picked up an item, put it back on the shelf, then returned to purchase it. Tried so hard to talk myself out of it, but in the end, it was too good a buy to pass up.

There are times when I find name brand clothing or other items for a song.

The fuel gelled up during the night. Freaking cold in the northeast. Hubby bought an additive and the furnace is running now. Oh blessed heat I missed you last night. LOL It got down to 55 in the trailer. Brrrrr.
