The real 'Big Chill, not the movie

The movie "The Big Chill' was released in 1983 and it had nothing to do with weather. If you aren't familiar with it see the link below. I have seen it, possibly more than once, over the years. I was more drawn to it when I realized it was partially filmed in Beaufort, SC which is where we spent vacations for 8 or 9 years up until last summer.
But the Big Chill I am talking about is the weather. Right now we are at 20 degrees - yes, it is cold but the wind is also very strong. While the Polar Vortex is showing its ugly face again we are lucky compared to all of you up north. I understand it will be 1 degree in New York and surrounding areas.
I can deal with 20 degrees since it will be around 60 by the end of the week. This could be a good evening to catch "The Big Chill" for real.

@AbbyGreenhill I hate the cold weather, my husband proposed a trip up to the mountains, but I declined, it's too cold.

Yes 1 degree F with a wind chill well below zero. I heard numbers like -20 below with wind chill.

It's not very warm in northern Florida but all I need to wear is a sweater. We are watching the weather as we plan to go nort very soon.

@AbbyGreenhill actually we were in a hurry to leave Canada and by the time we crossed the border I remembered my coat is in the closet at home. I have layers. A fleecy I was wearing when we left and three sweaters and a turtlrneck, so I think I will be fine...we'll see.

When I left to do my grocery shopping this afternoon it was 5 degrees. When I came out of the store it was 2 degrees. The wind was much colder than when I went into the store. I was supposed to go to a friends house after I did the shopping. Way to freaking cold. I let her know I was not coming. All I wanted to do was get home where it was warm and hibernate.

and we are warm again, whoever said this winter was going to be wet and colder than normal must have been eating a certain person's brownies.

It is cold today but the polar temperatures you are having will be here by tomorrow and Monday and we could have some wintry precipitation by Monday evening.

We're freezing here and it's getting colder as the day goes on. At least the sun is shining so it gives the illusion that it's warmer out than it is.

That's cold! We're about 72-100 F (25-37 C) here all year round. The weather only gets cooler with showers and downpours.

Here it is warm actually it has been since January with very few rainy days
