Jennifer Lawrence is one of the hottest, if not the hottest, actresses in Hollywood today. She won a Golden Globe and an Oscar at the age of 21 for the film Silver Linings Playbook, and was the lead in the series of films based on The Hunger Games. Her star has risen quickly, and is shining quite brightly.
Happily, that star isn't tainted. I've never met her, but she seems like a genuinely nice person. Her generosity shows her heart is in the right place. Last week Lawrence announced that she is donating $2 million to the Kosair Children's Hospital located in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky (which is also my hometown...of course, the best I can donate to them is about $2!
).
Lawrence hasn't "gone Hollywood." She's frequently in town, and not just for the Derby (when many "A-list" celebrities hit town). Every year she visits the young patients at Kosair Children's Hospital around Christmas time.
Now the children's hospital in her hometown will have a pediatric cardiology wing to treat infants and children with heart conditions thanks to her giving spirit.
Thanks, Jennifer. Your hometown is proud of you...and thankful for your generosity.

It is refreshing to know that she is such a giving person. I loved her in Silver Linings...was a good movie. Hunger Games is my favorite. I look forward to seeing her in many many future roles.

Less Kardashian and Miley, and more of her and others like her would be great.
