A Bright Star

Back in early January I shared a photo of a burning figure eight. I have a starry sky setting on one of my cameras that takes very cool night shots. The shutter speed is determined and the shutter stays open to draw in all the available light. You must use a tripod as no one can hold a camera still for 30 seconds, and you would get a blurry picture.
We put a piece of cloth on a thin wire stick and set it on fire. Then I clicked the camera and for 30 seconds the shutter stayed open. My youngest son twirled the wire in the shape of a star and this is the end result. I had such fun with this.

I learned this from a digital photography book. And what fun we had. We made several others as well, some letters and some shapes.
