The Nastiest Day of The Year (so far)

Today it is just nasty out. The snow is still there but the streets are wet and slushy thanks to the enormous amount of salt that the trucks have been dumping. When a car goes by you can hear the water being sloshed around but since there are snow banks and packed down islands of snow and ice, the water can't drain into the sewer openings at the ends of the streets.
Couple the weather with the dark and dreary skies and lack of birds chirping and you have the setting for the opening of a horror story. My joints are killing me from the snap in temperature; at night it goes down to the single digits and then during the day it creeps into the just-above-freezing range. Thankfully the weekend is supposed to be in the low 50's and that should help clear out the snow that seems to be on life support.
What's your weather like where you are?
Is it warmer or cooler than normal?
Do you have joint issues when it rains?

It has been in the 80s for a week now here in sunny Southern California. Warm weather is not unusual for this time of year but a weather report said we are running 20 degrees warmer than the norm.

On Saturday it was 62 here, and it's been 50's since. I'll take that in February anytime.

I could use more snow.
Unfortunately our temps are warming up, so the likelihood of that happening has dropped to zero in the next ten days as our temps climb to 43 for the max high in the next ten.
Our roads are wet as the snow melts by day and then freezes by night, making them very slippery. It will be a sad day in my life when the snow completely disappears for another year.

Our town rarely reaches 0C but in winter many OAPs (old age pensioners) head north to where it is warmer. I don't know how they'd cope with your temperatures.

Sounds like you're in the same area I'm in. I can't wait for spring!

We got a couple of inches last night, but our little street is already clear, so it's nothing like that blizzard we got last month. It's quite cold, though!
