Yesterday was the Lantern Festival, which is considered the last day of Chinese New Year, the 15th day of the first month in Lunar Calendar. Usually after this day, we will not have any Chinese New Year celebrations or visits.
I was told this day is considered as Chinese Valentine's Day as well. Some will go to the bridge and throw some mandarin oranges into the rivers, and see who will pick up the mandarin oranges might be the Mr. or Mrs. Right. I never take part in this activity before, so I am not really sure how it is. We don't really celebrate this day.
Though it's fun and joyful to celebrate Chinese New Year, I am also glad it's now over, so we can really be back to our normal daily life.
What is your next festival to celebrate?
Image: That's not a picture of Lantern festival, but just a photo we took while we visited a Buddhist temple. As it's the year of Monkey, the temple uses the theme of the famous Chinese literature - Journey to the West (about the Monkey King).
