Springing forth...

Still three weeks until the official beginning, but Spring is slowly arriving...
Frogs singing, trees budding, flowers blooming...and of course, bees buzzing.
I was out front for a bit with Scar yesterday, and suddenly he pounced on the crocus blooms and then began swatting the air.
I was afraid I knew what was happening, and I was right.
He suddenly had something trapped on the ground with his front paws, and before I could stop him, he tried to eat it.
It was a very small bee of some type, and it embedded its stinger in the middle of his lower lip.
Of course, then he freaked out, and then I had to catch him and remove the stinger...not an easy chore, he didn't want me touching him.
But I was successful, and after a few minutes he decided I wasn't an evil person after all.
Sunny day today, temps expected near 65F/18C, but they are expecting higher winds around 25-30 mph with gusts up to 45...hasn't started yet.
Peaceful Sunday morning at the Ratcliffe Ranch...

It was right on the point of his lower lip, and he wasn't cooperating at all, but I finally got it

@JolietJake Poor Scar, I am sure he was scared, but he will not learn the lesson.

He was unhappy about it in his lip, but he was also unhappy with me trying to get it out

It's almost 60 here but yup howling winds. It's sunny and when the wind isn't blowing me off my feet, it feels good. Apparently we have some hyacinths popping up.

We also have the lovely weather, as well as the winds. I had a neighbor that had retired as head of the parks department. He said that the wind drove the nitrogen into the leaves to make them open in the spring. Ouch for Scar.

Poor guy, I saw the whole thing unfold but couldn't do anything quick enough to stop him...hopefully he'll leave them alone now, but he loves attacking things so it will probably happen again

Poor guy. I've been lucky, no bees. I see a few sometimes, but mostly wasps. Actually had one get in the front room, but it landed on the screen door and I had the roomie open it and let it out. I've never been stung by a bee or a wasp - yet anyway.

One of my Bradford Pear trees is even blooming @JolietJake . Normally they don't start flowering until April but it seems every year, they are blooming sooner. Poor Scar the Hunter. Sometimes being good at what you do isn't always the best thing.

Owwww! When I have to do something like that to my kitties, I put them between my legs and kneel over them with my knees in front of their shoulders (if you get what I mean) and my feet crossed so they can't back out. They don't like it but it works.

I just got to thinking that I have never had to remove a stinger from any of my cats. I'd have to hand them over to Dr. Hubby to take it out. LOL

Wow, 65 degrees!!!! It is only supposed to reach 50 today. The sun is not cooperating and there are clouds keeping it from shining through. There is still snow (almost typed snot lol) here and there. Hard to get rid of the crap when it is cold at night and warmer in the morning. No flowers yet. Maybe next month. Maybe not.

Short winter , deviation from the normal , early arrival of spring...are we under the expanding green house effect ? Ice has started melting even in the poles and slow climate change has been taking place all over the world. Nature brought changes many times in the past even destructing animal and plant life partially or totally but again helped to grow from ashes . In the present time human activities are causing all the troubles and it is indeed a matter of great concern whether nature will help for the misdeeds of humans. Who are going to answer this question ? The change of climate is not the main criterion , more greater calamities are following. It is very doubtful that the present civilisation if does not see proper thinking, planning to stop the misdeeds of humans, there will hardly be any chance of survival. Humans will be destined to be annihilated.May God help us !
