I decided to write about this because there is a growing interest with search engine optimization. There is something I realize though. Just because your website appears on the first page of Google search it doesn't mean people will stay. If you give them a bad first impression they will leave. I want to make a topic that I hope will be found by website owners while their searching on Google because a certain website just upsetting me to the point of rage quitting. I want to write something in the perspective on Internet surfers. What makes me leave a website that I just found? 1.Forced Registration -There are these annoying websites that bullies lurkers to join their website without seeing the content of their site. I just want to read a thread or an article. I am sorry but I am not going to go to a forum or blog that forces me to register. 2. Pop Up adds- I am okay with advertisements because it keeps a website alive but for the love of lord of mercy! Please no pop ups! That is 90's and it is so annoying. 3. Forced captcha- Why in the moist barrels of goat pee I should answer a Captcha when all I need to do is to read a bloody article. I understand you do this to block spammers but you are driving away traffic with this shenanigans. Make peopel answer a Captcha before commenting and not before they can read your content. 4.Unresponsiveness- A website that crashes a lot and have a lot of errors is a huge bad first impression. 5. Hd embedded autoplaying video-My internet connection is slow. It can't handle HD videos. Website owners should put it in their minds that not everyone can afford to have a high speed connection. Some countries are cursed with slow internet. 6.Misleading content- There is a website known as Kpopstars and this website loves writing fake news articles. They will say a cancelled television show have a new season to clickbait fans of that TV show. They will say a movie will have a sequel just to lure the fans of that movie but all of it is nothing but a hoax. I hate this website because they have a good search engine optimization despite of their trash content. 7. Forced app installation- If you surf online using a cellphone or a tablet, You are going to encounter this a lot. Why don't they just make their site mobile friendly instead of forcing people to install an app. I want to to know your opinion, What makes you want to live a website you just discovered?

I am happy that Mylot fixed their bugs because many new comers got alienated by them.

@CaptAlbertWhisker endless graphics and sub-menus and welcome messages before you get to actual text too, and colours that hide the text or links you want are further deterrents

I hate forced registration. I am not going to sign up before I see the site. If I haven't seen the categories or the topics I don't know if I am interested in the site, and I don't want to sign up if I only want to read one thread or one article. If I get a message saying that I have to sign up to read the things I am interested in I simply leave. I had my own forum in the past and I never used forced registration. I think that people should have the chance to see what the site has to offer before they decide if they want to join it or not.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Yes, if you spend an hour on a site you are interested in the content. Sometimes I only read one thread or one article before I leave, because I don't find the rest of the site interesting.

I think they can only push forced registration if the person managed to stay on the website more than an hour, that means a person is interested. I really hate it when forced registration is on spot, you are right, we should be given a chance to read contents first.

You did do get almost all of those on the list. One more that you missed out - How about those download links that either will take you to some creepy survey form or even ask you to tweet or like their content before you download. I faced this problem on many sites - and despite they said the download is free, technically, it is not - I have to pay them via a like or tweet. And why? If I am downloading some thing for my own personal use, why the heck should I tell the world that I am downloading it?And wait, I havent even downloaded it yet, so how can I be sure if that stuff is worth a tweet or a like? Oh yes I also do not like those one page sites - which go for such things just to save on their money. I saw one - a store, that was just one page some months back in early 2015. And no, they do not have just 2 or three products, they had about 150 odd products and the page just seemed never to load completely.

Those annoying forced survey sites. It is a waste of time answering those surveys because they just want to get an information of yours. Your phone number, they will sell it to telemarketers.

Website that is not mobile friendly
Websites that are not mobile compatible are annoying too, I embedded the picture of what a certain website looks like on Android tablets.
