Just not a smiley kind of guy...

I get a lot of the 'you need to smile more' type comments here.
In fact, I've got them everywhere...all my life pretty much.
Truthfully, I do smile occasionally...I've even been known to laugh once or twice a year.
But a smile is not my normal look.
It's not really a frown either...if you saw one of those, you'd probably die right then and there from the sheer horror of it.
But I'm just not much of a smiler.
If you do happen to see me smiling...and showing my teeth...it probably means I am getting ready to use them to tear out someone's throat.
Besides, God only allotted a limited number of smiles for use by the human race...the fewer I use, the more are available for you.
Yep...that's my story and I'm sticking to it...

I love this photo image of you JJ.
You look at peace.
And comfortable in your own skin.
Yeah.

I had a problem with that too.
I would have to hide to keep a straight face so I could yell at them. They can be so funny though.

When my son was little, he could always make me laugh when I was fussing at him. I'd tell him, "I might be laughing, but you're still in trouble."

What a great photo. You don't have to smile if you don't want to. I don't always smile either, as I don't like to all that much, and when I do, I smile with my mouth closed which isn't all that good of a smile, but that is all that anyone is going to get.

@JolietJake My closed smile isn't much either, but that is the only smile I will do. It does look dorky, but hey, it is all I have.

My normal 'smile' is pretty much a slight upturn to the corners of my mouth

Me too! I don't smile much either. Used to be real bad about it. I was horribly shy when I was young. Now I just have a real bad attitude.

I am not a smiley guy either and I hate pictures. I do have a couple on Facebook, but that was not put there by me. lol Do like your picture though. Makes you look sophisticated and like you are pontificating about life. You do not need to smile to have happy thoughts. lol

I am not much of a smiler either. Funny thing is, I love a good and genuine smile. My husband's smile is one of the things that drew me to him.

From what I can see in you discussion, I can see a smile, a laugh, a woot and a devilish grin...That should do for 6 months I guess.
Jokes apart, its your life, you can express it the way u want. Anyway thankyou for making more smiles available for us.

'Smile' does not suit everyone. There is more to it than meets the eye.

It takes less muscles to smile than it does to frown, but who the heck cares!

Considering some of the things you've been through @JolietJake , smiling would not have been at the top of the list. Maybe Scar can help you out with that.

That's alright @JolietJake
It's just honesty.
I'm the kind of guy that smiles a lot though. But not all of my smiles mean i'm alright. It might also mean that "Okay, i'll let your mistake go (for now)". I might smile but in my mind I already gave someone an uppercut right on the nose.
