Dry or wet heat?

I know it isn't summer in the USA but for those of you in, let's say, Australia who are complaining about the heat do you have a choice? Every summer there are arguments about Florida's 'humidity' and Arizona's 'dry' heat. All I ever heard from the southwest that at least it isn't as humid as it in Florida or that I couldn't live in South Florida with all that heat and humidity Whether dry or wet heat over a 100 is HOT--you will burn your fingers on the car handle, the door into your house, etc.--and we haven't had a recorded temperature near a 100 in many years. And I don't remember the last time the thermometer hit 100 degrees in Fort Lauderdale! Not to be completely 'nasty' I will admit you can't dive into the ocean to cool off here--the water temperature is usually warmer than the land temperature and that sand can be hot. Hopefully you saw "The Inconvenient Truth" or have read the majority--a large majority--of scientists who talk about the earth getting/being hotter and the ocean levels rising. You could learn very easy ways to get the earth's temperatures cooler but more important how you can make your home and environment cooler--oh, I forgot, some people don't believe global warming and/or weather patterns are changing! Anyway it is a reminder to those in the Northern part of the USA that summer is on the way! Do you believe the atmosphere surrounding earth is changing? Do you have a preference for dry or wet heat?

We do not have bad blizzards like we used to. And it rains in December and January now.

I do remember "The Inconvenient Truth" and how absurd the government acted soon after it came out. I think that I prefer wet heat but we have pretty dry heat here. Humidity is not something Idaho has any of. When I went to visit my BFF in Oklahoma it was a strange enlightenment. I had to take sponge baths and Allerest was my closest friend.

I don't like high humidity. Luckily here the humidity isn't too bad at all. I cope with heat less well as I age.

I agree about coping with the heat as aging BUT very few people are out and about--except on the beach--during the high humidity days!

@GreatMartin I'm sure that's true but it always seems at some point that you need to leave the house - and it's always when the day is at its worst.

I've never experienced dry heat so I have no idea. I've only experienced heat and humidity up here in New England and while I'm not happy about that, right now it beats winter with a broken heater. But our winter has been relatively mild (it's going to be in the 70s this week), so I can't complain. Last winter, we had snow, snow and more snow and this winter we only had one snow storm where I needed to pay someone to haul the snow away. And that's a good deal. However, I do believe that our planet is in danger of global warming and when everyone will wake up and begin doing something about it is beyond me. And how awful that you can't jump in the water to cool off!!! That just stinks!

Sadly people aren't heeding all the warnings about global warming/climate changing!
