I am not much into soups but ever since I got to taste sweet corn and chicken soup I often make it. There is a big difference between making it yourself and eating it in a restaurant. I am generous with the chicken shreds that need to go into it. We get tinned sweet corn which I normally use. The chilies in vinegar and other sauces makes it perfect. The leftovers taste even better. What soups do you like to make?

Oh yum! I have made a sort of version with that but have also put egg in it (beat the egg and just drop it into the soup at the end - let the remaining heat cook up the egg). Yes, letting soups sit overnight make the flavors meld - always good the next day! We make all kinds of soup - and I like all of them I do make a chicken soup with all kinds of vegetables - and I might throw in some leftover rice or pasta. I like creamed soups - like broccoli or butternut. There is Japanese miso (fermented bean) soup with tofu and seaweed. Oh and Mexican tortilla soup. Like I said - I like to make (and eat) all kinds!!!

We cannot post recipes. Else I would have. You need to add a whipped egg at the end and what about corn flour? (lol) So you are more into soups. Are they your meals sometimes?

@allknowing Oh yes, we do add corn starch too (which I think is different from corn flour). Yes, they are our meals for sure! Lots of times they are leftover meals that get turned into soups . But with the cream soups we something a little more to go with it . . . a salad or piece of meat - or maybe some bread (like corn bread).

Leek and potato. My favourite one to make is tomato soup with corned beef and stilton cheese, doesn't sound amazing but tastes nice I like eating chicken, mushroom and noodle soup from the chinese.

This soup is also Chinese. Your soup is more a dish looking at all the ingredients.

@allknowing not really as it's all mushed up into a thickish liquid so it'd be a thick soup.

Here is one version. I do it slightly differently. But this should help
popular chicken and sweetcorn soup - originally from the southwest of China.

I have often have this soup when I go out - particularly in winter. I used to prefer crab meat and sweetcorn but occasionally there'd be tiny bits of shell in it which I didn't like. At least the shell showed it was authentic!

I too like the crab version and have made it many times. Nothing like making it yourself as we are generous with the meats in there.
