I did a home sleep study last month and have been waiting for the results ever since. I thought I'd hear about them within a week or two and thought since I didn't that they were negative for sleep apnea.
The nurse from the health clinic just called with the news from the sleep clinic: the results are positive for sleep apnea! Honestly, it really isn't a shock as we all went into this expecting a positive test result. That's what got this whole situation started.
Now I am just waiting to hear from the medical equipment company because they need to schedule a time to deliver the CPAP machine. That is the "continuous positive air pressure" machine that I will need to wear at night to sleep. They say it makes all the difference in the world for those with sleep apnea and I hope that it does. Stay tuned!

I can only hope so. The fact that the sleep doctor didn't order a sleep study in the center and relied on the results of the home test means that the results of the home study were clear: something serious is going on. The Cpap should definitely help both myself and my poor husband won't have to listen to my snoring and choking any longer.
