What Motivates You to Work?

Work is very important for everyoneof us. We all work for a living. There are times that we get so tired of our daily routine in work and we tend to be unproductive at times. But then we still have to move and accomplish our task because we have to. Sometimes we just need to be motivated. Whenever I get tired of working I think of the things that I have to pay, my bills, and my daily needs, that way I motivate myself to move and do my work. How about you, what motivates you to do your work? Is it the passion, money or something else?

Honestly, its the money that I could get from it. It may not be big but it surely does help in my day to day expenses and I dont work I will have no food to eat or money to support if every I do get sick.

All of us are not lucky enough to work for what they actually dreamed of. Most of us work for the sake of money and living and in order to sustain and support family. Motivation is truly effective when it comes to work and one's everyday job. I work to be self independent, self sufficient and of course for a healthy living. I believe that passion also works wonder when you started loving what you do and keeps you going for a long time. Work culture, ambiance, people also plays a role for me , since I have switched my last company only because of the mentality and political nature of the colleagues.

That was well said. All of us wants that, its just that sometimes we prioritize the things that should come first so we really have to embrace the kind of work we have.

This is amazing I couldn't of said it better myself. My past job was getting to the point some staff members were at war with one another, I was staring to feel like a referee than a manager and I had to leave despite living the position I was in. In my new job I often can't wait to get in and see how everyone is getting along

A bed of roses, Well it means a comfortable life. I work hard because poverty sucks and I want to stay away from it as far as I can.

Money is the best motivator for most of the people including me. Apart from money if someone praises my work I get motivated to do better work.

@LdeL0318 I guess there we are quite alike. All of my clients have goals and teaching them gives me even more motivation.

If only this were true of everyone - there are far to many people spongeing off the state in my opinion. I am retired now, but was fortunate to do a job that I was passionate about.

I need to enjoy my job. Yes, I also need the money but if I'm not enjoying it how would I have the motivation to get out of bed in the morning?! Friendship is important for me at work too ... I need to be able to get on with my colleagues.

Yes and I think we can learn how to enjoy the work we have. Instead of stressing ourselves we should just try to embrace it.

Frankly, I have to. I don't enjoy rising earlier than the roosters. I often tell myself it's easier to be destitute because the only worry is food and shelter. I'm a complex ball of thought and dreams. I work in a position that pays well and offers benefits most strive for, but this is temporary. I use it as foundation to build something bigger than myself through literary means. Passion is not work, but a fulfillment of what lays dormant in all of us.
