This year has been unbelievably bad on music. I'm sure you've heard about the death of Emerson, Lake & Palmer keyboardist Keith Emerson (if not, check out the discussion @teamfreak16 wrote about it).
I saw that Gogi Grant passed away yesterday as well.
That didn't make headlines or "trending" on Facebook for a simple reason: you generally have to be old to remember her, because her "big hit" was in 1956 (or, four years before I was born).
But OH what a song.
The song she was known for is "The Wayward Wind."
Countless country singers recorded "The Wayward Wind," including Tex Ritter and Patsy Cline, but it was Gogi Grant's version that topped the pop charts in 1956.
If you're going to be remembered for one song, make it a legendary song. Gogi Grant did just that.
She was 91.

It seems like more musical performers than actors have passed away so far this year. Gogi Grant was 91 so she did live a long life. ELP was just huge when I was in high school. Major stadium concert act and part of that progressive rock scene of the 70s.
