At what time did you actually "Spring Ahead"?

I heard about Daylight Savings Time starting at 2 AM this morning on MyLot of all places. My heads up came late yesterday morning, I think. But I forgot about it last night and didn't actually set my clocks an hour ahead until I read my emails this morning. A friend had sent an email about how silly DST was, and that was my cue. I still have to re-set the clock in my truck.
At what time did you actually set your clocks ahead? Are there some states and countries where they don't do the Daylight Savings Time thing? I think I read that Indiana, Arizona, and Hawaii don't, but I'm not sure. Does DST make a difference in your life? Do you think it's silly?

Here In England it is known as British Summer Time, but will not begin until 1 AM on 27th March. Most items will automatically reset these days, such as mobile phone or computer, but I will have my central heating and music centre to amend.
Of course it serves no practical purpose and should have been aborted long ago.

@TheHorse The mobile phones usually have an option to either be set manually or to acquire the time from the network. I always use the network time option so that the phone will always display local time which ever country I am in without having to be changed.

@Horse you think that is silly. Here in Latvia we have to turn our clocks ahead on March 27 which also happens to be Easter this year. Maybe we should all do the bunny hop

DST is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of! It served it's purpose back in the days before electricity, but serves no actual purpose nowadays. We need to get rid of it!
Luckily for me, all of my clocks except one are set to where they adjust the time automatically. I do have one wall clock in my kitchen that I have to adjust manually.

@TheHorse I have no idea either how long it's been around, but I think it's way past time to get rid of it!

@moffittjc I agree. I didn't like it when I was in school in New York and I don't care for it in my increasing decrepitude in southern California.

I love those extra hours of daylight in the late spring and summer. I awoke early, looked, bleary- eyed at my cell phone which showed 6:45. i got up anyway, wandered into the kitchen to start the coffee, and noticed that the clock on the stove said 5:45. I was confused for a moment, okay, a minute, then recalled that the phone is smart enough to reset itself. I left the clock in the kitchen to my wife. She handles the "technical" stuff here.

As a kid, I loved the extra hour of plying outside. As a VERY young kid, I hated going to bed when it was still light out. It made no sense. Glad you have someone to handle the technical stuff. Get me away from my vintage stereo gear, and I'm pretty helpless. I've driven all over town and still can't find an "App Store."

I reset clocks during the evening to acclimate myself to it sleepwise.

i dislike this 'shift'f time' twice a year 'n they keep tryin' to pass the law that abolishes such to no avail. i usually set 'em 'fore i go break'p the pillow fight, but failed to do so. the hubs finally mentioned such 'bout noonish??

@TheHorse lol, that pillow fight'd be 'twixt my pillows 'n my quilt 'fore i head off to slumber ;)
that time changin' schtuff messes with feedin' schedules - the horses/pups. their stomach's know when they're 'pposed to get fed 'n the spring forward thingy aint too bad to deal with. that fallin' back'ards though's a bit tricky. i gotta start switchin' their time'n increments 'fore the "day" hits so we remain'n track.

@crazyhorseladycx Oh, good one! I always wondered if my horse thought it strange that she was getting here afternoon hay when the sun was too high in the sky. She never told me.

You're right about the states that don't do it @TheHorse . Originally DST was set up for farmers so that they would have more daylight to work their fields but that was when most of the work was done by horse and plow. Nowadays with the modern equipment, it is unnecessary. There are still the same number of daylight hours with or without DST. For me, I go to bed at midnight and get up whenever my eyeballs open.

There is no time change in accordance with the seasons, as far as India is concerned. Our Indian Standard Time remains the same throughout the year.

I changed mine last night before I went to bed. I haven't changed the clock in my car, but that is not all that important right now, anyway.the digital clock on my dresser is supposed to change time, but it doesn't in March, as it will change in April, when we used to change the time. I just leave it and it will change on its own eventually. I just have to remember that it is really an hour later than what the clock says.

Some were funny @TheHorse but when I think that the mother nature one was about margarine it's an insult both to nature and me. Margarine is the unhealthiest item people have been dupped into eating .... I was lucky, didn't like the taste so stuck with butter
