This morning I am about to attempt a Beef Goulash for the family and I wish I had the instrument to make the home made German noodles that go with it. I had this dish in Namibia at a very famous German Restaurant in Swakopmund "Brauhaus" and now I am craving it like crazy. Today will be the test run to see if I can do it. If any of you know an easier or ordinary way to make the German Spaetzle noodles - please give me some tips. I think I might have to order Spätzlepresse so that I can make it perfect!! The photo is from Google images, but I hope my outcome looks as good. what do you think?

Despite having tried a vast variety of foreign foods over the years, I have never tried goulash.

@Inlemay What specifically make it a goulash as opposed to a stew?

Spätzli are also served in Switzerland. The recipe of the dough is very simple. 1 egg per each person 100 grams flour for each egg 50 grams water and milk (25+25) for each egg A pinch of salt I do not have a spätzlepresse, so I use a potatoes ricer, using the insert with the largest holes. It takes ten minutes to make, no more.

@Inlemay The spätzli are pressed directly into the boiling water, when they come to the surface, you get them with a colander and place in a pan where you melted a little butter, saute for half minute and serve.

Sorry, I have no idea how to prepare German noddles, but I'm sure you will do an excellent job. Will we get to see the results?
