Just Speechless

Some of you may know of my relationship with a raptor, an osprey we named Orville.
Last year, we watched Orville teach his young sons to fish. This year, he gives them loud whistles as they fly together, which sound like a whistle a man might make when trying to get someone's attention.
Yesterday, I saw one of his three sons fishing. I called to him, and he flew to my window to get a good look at me. I wish I had my camera ready, but the photo here is of him returning to fish. Too bad he doesn't chirp and tweet like his daddy to give me warning of his arrival.
We were both just speechless.
P.S. While writing this, I had to halt. Orville just dropped by for a visit. The lady walking on the beach was left speechless, too, when I called to him and he flew to my window while busy fishing.

There is so much we need to learn about our flora and fauna. I have these Drongos visiting my birdbath. They chirp in about 8 different ways including a cat's meaow.

I think Orville and I have something in common - - I, too, whistle to catch the attention of some pretty ladies passing by.
. . Just kidding.

Nice to see that Orville is still around. I hope you had a pleasant winter in Florida. We may still have a little bit of winter left, it seems. When are you thinking of heading North again.

Thank you, Alice. I hope to see Orville every year. I couldn't bear it if something happened to him. We had a wonderful season down here, but it ends April first. I received my 4 months and won't get one day more, according to my husband. Lol! I'm grateful for those four months, but miss seeing the kids.
