THat's just a friendly disclaimer for all those who are tired of hearing me complain. Why do you think I complain here? everyone else is tired of hearing it to.
They are now cutting our hours at the district level. Our DM is not happy with hours so there is a cut across all and it's really annoying. Our department, especially, needs to be able to deliver the service we provide. If we aren't there to make things presentable and available, then why are we even employed there?
I am HOPING my manager will be able to stay but I've noticed they get rid of anyone who starts to try to change things for the better. By "get rid" i mean "ship off to another store".
Appreciate your grocery store workers when / if you see them. Especially the stock clerks who are forced to deliver service when they are short handed sometimes.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They do employ temp workers now, but they were not doing so when my son was working there years ago. I know Reality..it is sickening the way they do these underhanded moves.

There are many jobs that people don't realize aren't easy. I couldn't do nursing, it was hard enough being an in home aide. Emotionally as well as physically.

With cut hours you should have time to find something else. A better job would probably make you feel better.

@ScribbledAdNauseum .....But, all can't be that bad. I'd ask around and see if there is one that is better to work for and then start inching my way that direction.

I have anxiety issues. I've been with my current employer since 2011. I know I get aggravated and mad but the way I see it is I'd end up in the same boat no matter where I go. Eventually all retail jobs lead to this.

How will work pick up? Is it management not scheduling properly?

My manager does the schedule, his manager takes and edits it. Apparently it's been coming from the corporate level as wlel

It's really hard keeping yourself quiet if you are seeing things that should be improved on. I also have a lot of complaints about my job and it's just hard to stick around.

I can understand what you mean about it being hard to stay there. There is just so much you see wrong and you want it changed / to change it but you can't. It's disconcerting for sure. I've read (in the past years) of other filipino's having to search abroad for better jobs. IS the job market there kind of bad?

@ScribbledAdNauseum It is not so bad. Others just work abroad out of what their family members seems to be doing. But yeah, the pay is really low around here.

@cherriefic Oh okay. I was just curious why everyone was going abroad. It's not easy to live off of low pay for sure.

Maybe get a second job that could fit in with your hours.
Do you have temp agencies there where you can be in a new place every day?
I joined one a few years ago and it was so flexible.
I could phone up one morning and an hour later they could find me a shift at a factory.
Sometimes they phoned me and I always tried to be available but eventually I went full time at a brain injury place and my agancy shifts became few and far between.

We have agencies all around here but the problem is getting to and from. I don't drive and cabs can be very expensive. Sure we have buses but I don't really want that route of transportation. Don't trust it any.
There's a place that is usually always looking for work that I could try. I tend to get aggravated at work and then stick it out as there is always times when they have to go back on their change and have me or others working more, sometimes more than we'd like.

No, it's more corporate policy than government standards. Atleast for my company. We aren't governemnt affiliated.

It really hurts when hours are being cut.
That hurts all involved.
