The Bathroom is now Finished

Complete with marble effect tiles and a clever slow close lid on the toilet our new en-suite bathroom had been completed. The workmen have gone and all we have to do is tidy up and put everything back. We slept last night back in our bedroom and showered this morning in our new shower. I have to say eventhough we now have to paint the bedroom it is good to have a new pristine en-suite bathroom available to us. We deserve this! It is good to have everything clean again, I still have to fit the shelves over the next few weeks and we purchased one towel rail that is too large, so have to replace that item at the weekend. Still more work on the house later in the year. The picture is a collage of both ends of the bathroom.

I remember the gutted photos before it was done - your bathroom turned out fabulous! It must feel like a treat to be in there now!

Yes, I believe it is great and it is a treat to have that is why I said "we deserve this". I have some shelves to put up, but will do that Sunday.

Are you trying to tell me you didn't shower all these days Peter darlin? Bro in law, I must say you did a great job...it definitely does not resemble its previous image you let us have a glimpse of..

@pgiblett ..Having other bathrooms does not necessarily mean you had a shower in them, right? Unless you tell us that you had like you felt compelled to tell us here..

@ramapo17 We have made so many changes this year, I have reset the number of bedrooms back to 5, whereas the previous owner had merged 4 rooms into 2 as she rented them out as studio flats.

@pgiblett That is so true and when you are all done it is time to start a new project. When you have a house it is never ending but I think it is fun redoing it.

I am glad I looked at this post as I am trying to decide on ways to change our bathroom. We bought an older house and the guest bathroom is small and needs a make over. The tub surround looks new so I do not have to replace it but the wall covering is very outdated. I was think of the white subway tile for all the walls and a marble look tiles for the floor. I don't want any colors as then I won't be able to change the colors during the year. At least with the white like you have you can put any color to change your moods or holidays. Nice job.

Thank you, we are now looking at the guest bathroom. Someone suggested to us we get the same colour as our en-suite, but we want something different, and the most annoying thins is that the offerings at Lowe's and Home Depot don't fit our vision.

@ramapo17 I know what they offer and have looked on-line. My preference if for Lowe's but the choices available are currently not wide enough that is all.

@pgiblett Look at their sites online as there are so many other things they offer. There are things there that I was surprised they had and I worked at HD 20 years.

We bought a slow close toilet lid a few weeks ago. It seems that almost 'everyone' has one. We need one or two more but not right away. Our master bath in this house is the biggest and nicest one out of our 4 homes in TN. We have a huge walk in shower and that was something I always wanted. I guess you like white, I need and like color.

I like color too @AbbyGreenhill but the bathroom I have to do is so small and white or very light colors will make it appear larger. At least with white I can use any color accessories. I think I own about 10 different shower curtains so I can change them almost once a month.

@ramapo17 I agree with you, out en-suite is a small bathroom and the white does make it look larger. Shower curtains can add character.
