Why a Lower Minimum Payment?

When I logged onto MyLot today, I was stunned to see that the minimum earnings required to receive a payment for the months of March and April has been reduced to just $1. This will be wonderful news for those people who only earn $1 to $2 a month. They will no longer have to wait 5 to 10 months in order to get a deposit in their PayPal accounts. However, it seems to me that it will be a lot more work for the MyLot staff. I haven't seen any other articles about this, but I thought some of you might have read something. Does anyone know why they did it? Will it be continued, or is this a short-term gift? What do we know about this change? What do you think about this change? I'm just curious.

I don't know where the post is, but it will only be for those two months. It should help the new users and the older ones be able to reach payment more quickly. I believe it's strictly a motivating factor, but a very nice one on the part of the myLot staff. Can you imagine Bubblews ever doing that? Obviously not! Lol!

@enlightenedpsych2 - I agree that the "bubs" site was NOT maintained by reputable people. Such a shame.

I have read what Alex wrote, it is to encourage people to join and to write and not to stop only because they see so far the possibility to cash 10$.

I think it will be very encouraging for people who aren't able to spend much time here, and for newbies too.

@jaboUK - Yes, the lower payout will be very encouraging for people who either don't spend much time here or who are new to the site.

I agree. It won't affect my behavior. But it will be good for new people and people who don't have much time to spend here. I wonder if they'll settle in on a $5 or $3 compromise after the two month trial period.

@TheHorse - I would love to see the MyLot administrators settle on a $3 to $5 minimum payout. I think that would increase the activity here and people would become less discouraged.

i think this is a great move, this can motivate us to be active here because $1 is not hard to reach, at least we know that they'll pay us.

@DeborahDiane I spend a few hours a day here yet still only manage to generate a few cents. I'd love to earn more but cannot justify the time here.

I think it is a great move. I also think it would be beneficial to do this from time to time to encourage who find it hard to make the current minimum payment.

I am a little concerned about the work involved too but maybe it is all done automatically ? It is fine either way with me and maybe it will encourage some others, I am not sure,

My initial thought was the very same thing, that's a lot of work that the team is taking on. Thankfully it is only projected to be for the months of April and May. I would imagine that it will help those who have recently joined in reaching a payout for the first time, I remember how long it took me the first time.

@DeborahDiane I find that I've earned more this month, and I think it can be attributed to the increase in interactions due to the new payment schedule. I just hope that the admin team doesn't overdo it and takes their time, we are all patient and can wait, last month it was there so quickly it caught most of us off guard.

If you are right about it being automated, that is great! Then, there should be no problem keeping the payments low.

It's just a trial run for 2 months as their experimenting with this. Some members don't ever get to cash out so that's why their lowering it to 1 dollar so they can get the joy of having money in their bank too. I did see an article on this but i don't have it anymore. I heard if you don't want to cash out with just 1 dollar in your bank you can remove your paypal information for that month.

A lot or members new and old have Ben complaining lately that do not what the time to be able to make $10 a month so it takes them money's to get there. I believe this a trial run to see if it works or not. If it doesn't I would like to see if they can lower it to $5 I'm excited to see what happened

@DeborahDiane I do like the ideas of $1 bit the I think like you said it might be a lot of work ans it might hold up hoe long it takes for everyone to get paid. If the $1 doesn't work maybe the will look into $5 instead,

I doubt it will be any more work because it is all automated. The limits are set because it costs the company to send out money. They have asked for our feedback. I think a $5 minimum for payout would be good.

I think it is to help those who do not get much to motivate them that the site is kosher and that they do pay out. It seems a piddly little amount but I guess for those who only earn a dollar a month it might help them make more of an effort???

@garymarsh6 - I agree. For those people who earn very little and think they will never earn payout, this will encourage them to put in a little more time.
