Hitting The Snooze

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! $MACK! Did you hear that? That was the sound of me hitting the Snooze button. It happens about 7 times every morning. By the last time, I barely have enough time to get out the door on time, but yet and still, I do it every single morning. I think the snooze button might possibly be one of the worst inventions ever. Do you hit snooze?

I agree. The snooze button is the worst thing around. I never use it, but studies have proven that the five minutes of interrupted sleep is less effective and more harmful than not sleeping at all.

I believe that, but I don't believe it at 430 in the morning, lol.

I set the alarm maybe 10 times a year. But when I do, I get up immediately. I set it at the latest possible time so I can't hit snooze.

@RussTeed Yeah, I like that cushion. I call it a pillow.

@cindiowens I used to do that, but after much thought, I stopped. I figured that being woken up once, twice, or three times is lost sleep. But, some folks like that cushion to wake up slowly.

Ever hear of the Ruggie alarm clock? It is an alarm clock that is a rug that you place near your bed. The only way to shut if off is to stand on it. LOL. No more snooze!
Ruggie requires users to stand on it to stop alarm.

The invention ever until there isn't one for awhile. Then you'd be singing a different tune. LOL I am glad that I am retired. Ugh!

@cindiowens ...I was lucky enough to get an early retirement and then got on SSD rather quickly soon after.

I used to, then rushed to get ready, so I quit doing it. Now that I'm retired, I can sleep as long as I want. It feels soooo good!

Never ever, my thought is I would rather sleep soundly until I have to get up instead of being woke up every 9 minutes or whatever it is.

always, every working days. the best part of my morning is when i dont have to hit that button. but i find it very important, i dont think i will be able to wake up on time for work without an alarm.

Try to go to sleep just a few minutes earlier at night. Yes, you may end up laying in bed until your actual sleep time, BUT, eventually you will fall asleep that wee bit earlier. It may help, as it has me in the past. I work third shift, but do set an alarm on the nights I work so that I can be up and about to do things. I prefer to the things I need to before work instead of doing them before bed and then going to sleep and having to essentially wake up, eat and go to work. That makes me nervous / antsy.

@cindiowens I am probably one of very few that actually like the night shift. I might not actually like the work sometimes, but the shift itself is fine.

I have tried that. I still hit the snooze. I am a terrible morning person. Third shift is the worst. My hat is off to ya.

I don't need to now as I'm retired, but no, I never used to. I would get straight up as soon as the alarm went.

No, I usually wake up immediately when my alarm rings. I think only iPhone has the 'snooze' button right?

When the alarm goes off I'm up. My son is the one who hits the snooze button. I go in at 7:30 and tell him to get his butt out of bed so I'm not late for work.
