Goodbye Grey.....for at Least 6 Weeks

So, here I sit waiting for 5 more minutes to go by so I can remove the dye from my hair. It has to sit for 30 minutes after application. I have been using John Frieda, Medium Natural Blonde. It is a foam product that goes on easily and leaves my hair looking great. Also covers up those invading greys. Many people ask why do you bother dying your hair? My answer is why not! I had a lady who was 100 years old who dyed her hair. It wasn't something that I was supposed to do for her, but I did. If she didn't color her hair it would have been completely white. Hair dye was invented for us to change the way our hair looks. Why not use it. No matter what age you are, if it makes you feel good, do it.

I agree with you Elusive. We were taught that in beauty school. Some students would question why dye hair? And the teacher would say because it is there and it makes us pretty lolz

It is a personal preference. Some do, and some don't.

@TiarasOceanView I doubt there will come a time when I actually stop using dye to enhance my long locks. For a fleeting moment I thought I would embrace those grey hairs. It was gone in a flash. I prefer my golden locks over grey. I know that the trend is to have grey hair, but why?

I do not dye my hair, they grow too fast, when I did I had to repeat every two weeks. One day I decided to stop.

My sister has a 2" grey streak off the left side of her scalp. She has problems keeping up with it. I love the way it looks. She of course isn't fond of it and will go from a root touch-up to a full dye.

@LadyDuck my mother has salt and pepper colored hair. She wears it well. My grandmother had the same. I know that I will eventually have a full head of grey hair. Not to my liking just yet.

@ElusiveButterfly At the beginning I was unhappy with my silver grey hair, but finally I think that they are not too bad.

I have had white hair since I was 30 and never dyed it why should I as it looked good to my husband. It all depends on what you like.

I wouldn't care if my husband was okay with it or not. I like to keep my hair this color and he has no say in it!! LOL. He knows better than to challenge me on it. I have two SIL's that are entirely grey. They wear it well. If you like it, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

@ElusiveButterfly The only thing that matters is what you want to do.

Personally I like my white hair. Whatever anyone feels comfortable with is fine by me.

That is why mine didn't get done for so long. The growth was getting a bit out of hand. When you get someone looking at the roots instead of at your eyes when they talk, you know it's high time.

I usually dye my hair blond. Last year I tried out bright red. I liked it, but no one else did.

Even though we say it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, it leaves us with a little pang when others dislike our choice. Oh and btw, you look good as a blonde. That is the shade I would actually like, but have not been able to achieve it.

I dye my hair usually too, but I don't think I will be doing it at 100! Actually I want to be and expect to be gone before that.

Although her hair was thinning, she said that she hated the white hair and while she still had hair she wanted it to be a nice chestnut brown.

It never lasts 6 weeks, not true.

I let it go for at least 6-8 weeks. My hair grows fast so the roots show quickly.

Now purple is my favorite color Alfredo. I laughingly suggested it would be my next hair color to my husband. He called me a dork. Wouldn't he have been surprised if I truly did just that!

I'm all for dying my hair and have to do it one day this week. I hate sitting with the dye on my hair but love when it's finally done and I can enjoy those grays covered for a few more weeks. I'm curious about John Frieda? does it really cover all the gray?

It does cover all the grey. I have tried other brands and always go back to John Frieda. Love the results.
