Who Remembers The Moody Blues?

My nephew has a friend who is in her 30s. Thanks to her father, she loves classic rock music. The other night, her father asked her if she wanted to go with him and her mother to see a movie and she said okay. So they jumped in the car and headed to a venue.
Once inside, she realized that she wasn't there for a movie at all. She was there for a Moody Blues concert! Now, I've seen them in concert a few times in the past and they always amaze me at how much better they sound live. Their music takes on a life all its own. She told me that she was on her feet, singing and dancing through the whole concert.
I just think it's great that a young woman half my age loves the same music I do. Her father gave her some great musical inspiration while she was growing up and she's just running with it now. Her other favorite was David Bowie, and since his passing, she's been listening to him almost non-stop.
Who are your favorites in the music world?

In Your Wildest Dreams was one of my favorites. I have many bands and solo artists that I enjoy listening to. Very few have I seen in concert. The price of concert tickets isn't worth going. I am too frugal.
I love Elton John. @FourWalls has been writing quite a few posts on Elton John. Today is Elton's 69th birthday. Love his music.

@CRK109 Elton John has been nearby, but the tickets were quite pricey. My sister asked if I would like to get lawn seats for one concert. Glad we didn't go. There was torrential downpours and thunder along with lightning that night.

Back in the 80s, I was lucky enough to work for a man who owned a skybox at the Civic Center and we got free tickets to just about every concert that came through the city. I saw so many music acts back then and the memories are fantastic. Sadly, no Elton John, however. :)

The Moody Blues are my brother's favorite band. He's seen them several times and says they always put on a first-rate show. I had a supervisor when I was stationed in Norfolk who was also a huge Moodies fan. There was no work done the day after she saw them, because she had to tell us every detail of the show!!!
I'm still astounded as to why they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I'm not a huge fan, but my favorite Moodies song is "Question." A truly terrific song.

You give a great question. They should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They have been getting the job done for most of the years I've been alive and while they look older, they sound fabulous still. The song I posted here is my favorite that they perform live. It blows me out of my seat every single time. :)

What? The Moodies aren't in the R&R HOF? I thought they were. Just another example of why I have issues with them.

I know, right? Her parents are wonderful and I'm so glad they did that for her. Of course, I'm sure they enjoyed every second of the show, too! :)

She did! She was shocked and she loved every second of that show. I'm jealous and very happy for her that she got a great experience! :)

The Moody Blues were huge when I was young. A supergroup filling stadiums. Nights in White satin and The Story in Your Eyes.

I was reading the comments and surprised to learn they aren't in the R&R HOF. "Nights in White Satin" alone will still get played on the radio long after we are all gone.
