The Bees They Are A Flying

The other day I had bought some more tulips for the garden. The darn squirrels like to dig up my bulbs in the later winter early spring, depending on how frozen the ground is. So while outside helping my husband plant them I saw the bees. What a great thing to see at the end of March. Not sure if I have ever seen bees this early but it sure made me happy to see.
A few years ago I was taking pictures of the plants and flowers in my garden and I saw this bee on my sedum. As least that's what I think this plant is. I got an extra bonus when as I clicked the picture a common housefly was buzzing by. I didn't know I had captured the fly until I loaded the pictures onto my computer. I was pleasantly surprised.

Squirrels don't dig up my bulbs, but they sure help themselves to my apples..
I haven't seen a honey bee yet this year, but yesterday we did see a huge bumble bee. Don't know if they are as important as the honey bee, so my son and I gave him lots of room to go where he wanted to go.

@Carmelanirel2 It is but we really need the honey bees, I think they are way more numerous than bumble bees.

I do believe they gather pollen, not sure what they do with it, maybe the same as honey bees, but they do help with pollination.

@fishtiger58 I have read another article today in the Swiss papers about the problem of the bees the chemicals and the pesticides. Every year we have less bees.

I hope the scientists come up with the problem with the bees and fixes it soon or yes we could all be in big trouble.

I do too, the bee die off is becoming serious and soon there won't be any and then the entire world is in trouble.

It's called a Sedum. It gets really big, not tall but spread out.

that is a beautiful shot of your flower with the bee and the fly. I wonder if the bee ate the fly?

@fishtiger58 but bees fry fats too. I think there was a "kamikaze" when these 2 insects went around that flower

That picture is amazing! But I do not like seeing bees-I am terrified of them! I run like I am being chased with an ax!

@fishtiger58 I cannot stand still either! I try and try to tell myself don't move-but if they come too close I take off anyway.
I'm sure I look silly doing it but I don't care at the time I am running. Lol

Thanks the fly was purely accidental and a lucky bonus. I hope something is being done to save the bees or the whole world will be in trouble.

The bees are dying off and this is a major problem. Without the bees we don't grow fruits and vegetables. The scientists need to figure this die off out and stop it.
