I was surprised yesterday afternoon when it was 3:30pm and Ina Garten's show, Barefoot Contessa, was on the Food Network. Her half-hour show is usually on in an hour block from 4 to 5pm.
I went to the online sit to check the schedule to see what was going on. Lo and behold, Ina has lost her hour time slot. For that matter, so has Giada who used to be on from 3-4. The person who has gained from their losses? Ree Drummond aka The Pioneer Woman.
Ree's show used to be on from 5-5:30 but now she has an hour block from 5-6. I guess Food Network is making her their new darling and taking a step away from tried and true stars Giada and Ina. What a shame as they actually know how to cook unlike Ms. Drummond.

I like one or two of Ree's recipes, but I prefer Ina.

I watched the Food Network channel for years. Actually learned a lot from watching it so much. Very few are the recipes I have tried. Paula Deen had some great recipes that I have made quite a few times. She was one of the few that I truly enjoyed watching.

I haven't watched Food Network in years. Personally, I think a lot of them don't really know how to cook. LOL
