Watching the Returns Come In....

I may not be able to vote in the American elections, but I have been watching the Democratic primaries with some interest over the last couple of months. The US system for choosing presidential candidates is very different from how things work in Canada. I think perhaps the unfamiliarity of the whole thing helps to fuel my curiosity.
Tonight I'm watching the returns coming in from Wisconsin, and I'm very pleased to see that Bernie Sanders has been declared the winner. The gap is closing! I'm hoping that he still has a chance at running for president.
If you could (or are eligible to) vote in the US elections, who would you like to see representing the Democrats on the ballot? Any thoughts about the Republican candidates?

@Ruby3881 @irishidid is right, the Queen is not the one who really rules the country. It's the same in Italy, the Italian president it's only a representing figure, it's the Prime Minister who does everything. Can you imagine a 80 year old man running around the world to follow all the different meetings? I think that it should be a "pension age" also for the Politicians.

I wouldn't vote Hillary or Sanders. I'll be voting Republican even if I have to hold my nose when I do.

@irishidid Oh wow, I guess you really don't like either of them! (And I do think a nose plug may be in order, come November...)
What would you be looking for, if you could create the ideal candidate?

@Ruby3881 I had already posted a discussion about this.Of course I would never vote for Mr.Trump. I do not dislike Bernie Sanders. But I will vote for Hillary. (That is if she is the Democratic candidate.)

I think I commented on your discussion. But I forget, what were your reasons for preferring Hillary?
I know a lot of people do because she's a woman. And there are still some who support her because they liked Bill. But I honestly haven't heard anyone give any reasons why they think she's the better candidate. (I've heard people say they support her because she isn't socialist like Bernie, but that's about it.)
I personally wouldn't vote Hillary because of her connection with corporate America, and because she's spent most of her life jockeying for the best political advantage. She always claims she's not a "natural politician," and that may well be. But I get a very strong feeling she's rarely done anything - from leaving the Republican party to marrying Bill, and beyond - without considering how it would affect her political career.

I am from the US and have been closely watching the upcoming election fiasco. I never paid much attention to politics until this year. What is going on is both fascinating and frightening. I am also eligible to vote. At this point I'm not sure who I will vote for. I am not comfortable with any of the candidates. There are a few I would never vote for but will refrain from saying whom. Also, welcome to myLot! I also hail from PP and Bubblews and also Helium.com.

I also watch the US election process with interest. Hilary Clinton isn't popular in Asia (especially China), many believe she will pursue a foreign policy of US expansionism just like the Bush administration. I would vote for B. Sanders. As for the Republicans the whole electoral process has develop into a sham but I must admit D. Trump has made it more entertaining.
