Motor-Bike Riding Oldies

@Asylum just commented on @TheHorse's post (http://www.mylot.com/post/2913080/i-was-too-quick-to-judge) that 70-year-old motorbike riding men would be somewhat rare in England. While we were in Albany, Western Australia, recently and visiting a war memorial, Vince took a photo of a group of motor-cycle riders. They didn't have a camera so Vince used his own and has now emailed the photo to one who will forward it to the others.
Many of these men would have been pushing 70. They are all involved in the military in some way. Some are Vietnam vets which would make them in their late 60s at least. Others have served in other wars and/or in other capacities. It was nice to be able to record this ride for them as they were having a good time. They said they plan rides together from time to time. To be in this group the bike must have an engine at least 250cc or larger.
Although the original photo was a bit dark and indistinct, Vince was able to photo-shop it and it is now much clearer.

I'm sure there are and if you like riding your bike why would you stop if you were still able to?

@crazyhorseladycx It is a great shame as the damage is taking a bit longer to fix than first thought. And he has had an extra air-fare each way too.

Yes, the bikes can be very expensive. Our 73-year-old friend has just bought a second-hand bike and planned to ride it from Queensland to Western Australia. He only got a short distance and it broke down but it should be fixed soon and he'll have another try.

He offered to take a photo of them but not one had a camera! So one of them gave us an email address and Vince has now sent the photo. Haven't heard back yet but they might still be on the road. I feel sure they'll be pleased with it.

It looks good. Thank goodness for decent editing programs. Have you heard Richard Thompson's brilliant motorcycle song, 1952 Vincent Black Lightning? I just posted a link in a comment on my motorcycle crash post. At least I think that's where it is.

I've just listened to it then called up the lyrics just to check. Great song. My Dad had a Norton probably about 1934. I haven't heard of the Vincent but I know little about bikes.

I guess it is just a matter of keeping on doing what you've always done.

In the original you can't make out any faces so this is a huge improvement. They do look cool don't they?
