Watching for Deliveries

Today, I am a student of life. I sit in my apartment and wait to see if/when/how things will be delivered to me. I already know that the post office delivers to my little mail box downstairs. If I have a package, it goes into a larger box and I'm given a key. That works very well. This morning, as I slept, I heard my buzzer go off. I was just too lazy to get up. Soon thereafter, I heard a little knock on my door. But I was still in bed and not dressed, so what could I do? When I got up, I looked outside my door and found a slip from FedEx. They had tried to deliver the wrist brace for my carpal tunnel (the one I'd wanted to get on Saturday). I called them and they sent the driver back with the package. So, now I know how FedEx works. I can even give them delivery instructions online in the future, so I (hopefully) won't miss a package. Now to UPS. Turns out, I have a package out for delivery today. I ordered two pair of pants from QVC that were on clearance. I assume UPS will deliver the same way as FedEx, but we'll see. I'll be here all day and I think they deliver until about 8pm. If I hear my buzzer go off, I'll know it's them. Once I understand how all the deliveries work here, it will be so much easier to order things as I need them. -Claudia-

You need a lot of patience to wait for deliveries.

Not really. I have nowhere to go today and I'm still unpacking and fixing the place up. :)

I wonder if you can put down the precise instructions when you make payment. If the instruction is printed on the address or delivery note, the delivery guys will follow to the letter.

@CRK109 I think you can call up the customer service and quote the tracking reference. Sometimes when you call too late, the delivery detail is not passed down in time to the operation team.

With FedEx, we can go to their website and give instructions about the date and time of day. I don't know about UPS. I haven't seen anything from them giving those kind of instructions.

It does take some observations when you move. I am glad you are getting it figured out. I really love to order what I want.

That's great that the delivery driver returned to deliver your package. We can easily track our packages and the delivery services aren't bad. Sometimes a package may be thrown but other than that. They provide great service for their customers. Enjoy your day!

I can track packages, but sometimes I still don't know what time they will arrive, like this morning. I will have to learn what is the earliest they can deliver so that if I want to lay down, I can still be dressed so I can get up for them if they come early! lol

Glad things are being delivered to the door. That has to be a good thing.

Things are changing over here and they now text you on delivery morning with a window of when they expect to arrive.

That's really nice of FedEx to come back for you once you called. Here - they will leave a slip and after a certain time, you call to make a redelivery. They will attempt again if you aren't home again - they will make you visit the local branch for pick up.

It sounds that they deliver the same way to you as they do here Claudia. We also have lockers near the mail boxes which they leave a key for in the box. And if you answer the door Fed X and UPS both will hand the pkgs to you at the door. Hope your pants come today then. Sorry you missed your wrist brace.
