How did you meet your close friends? Who was the first one who initiate the conversation? Is it you or your close friend?
Relationship for me always start with a simple "hi" or "hello" and when both of you feels good talking with one another, then it is the time that friendship develops.

Not sure if i'm really a friendly person, but i like chatting with people and i try to be friendly as much as possible. Couldn't remember if it was me who initiated the friendship first.

Do you find the word "friendly" and "sociable" the same? I also loves chatting but it all depends on how I perceive someone. There are people who look strict and there are who look friendly. It is tough for me to approach a person who seems to have a strict face.

@toniganzon I understand. There are some who look strict but its just an appearance. People mistaken me as a strict person too because I am very quiet. Have you ever encountered a person whom you instantly got a feeling that you could not make friend on that person at all?

@annierose no they're different to me. I look strict and unapproachable but the moment people get to know me, they all want to be my friends.

@LadyDuck That is good. I have a bad experience before with someone. She is also a girl and she is not talking to anyone that time. I just want to say hi but she just looked at me and then ignored me.

Hi Anna!
Is it easy for you to say those greetings to anybody? I feel awkward to say it to other people. There is sometimes a fear that they might ignore me then I will just get humiliated.

@annierose I see no reason why they should ignore me. They are usually happy to reply to my greetings.

@annierose Yes, me too. Sometimes some people might look not so friendly, they are actually quite friendly. But, I might not start a conversation with them first if I don't feel comfortable with them at the beginning.

I can talk easily if the person I see seems to be friendly too and will not ignore me.

What makes a person an introvert one? My brother and siblings are not introvert and I wonder why I am the only one who is.

@annierose You can research articles on this if you need more information but personally, I have my own issues that made me so. More often than not, it's an inborn thing.

In addition to that, a relationship will not be strong without communication. Some friendship fails because of jumping into conclusions easily without communicating first to the other person. So, for you, how do you start a friendship with other people?

@annierose when somebody approaches me and offers friendship, it is imy volition to see if this person is sincere. I have to gave trust to this person. it is so hard to explain but when the time is here, i will gauge if one is worth to be my friend or not.

How do you start a friendship? Do you make the first move or just wait for them to approach you?

@annierose _Friendship often start with a need for cooperation, having the same goals, an expedient necessity or practical purpose. It's not a popularity contest. There are fine weather friends and there are all weather friends. You will only know in time of difficulties who they are. The more important question is not how you start a friendship but what kind of friends are you looking for?

@josie_ It is a good question. I only have few friends as I like to make myself busier with books. Sometimes, I feel that people cannot understand why I do not mingle with them. They think I am a weird person and sometimes they tease me. They just think that I have a different world than them. There are only very few people who really understand me. Anyway, I do not mind it. All I want are just true friends.

I usually initiate the first hello. When they said hello back then I've already won a friend.

Can you easily say hello to anyone irregardless of age, social status, gender, and nationality? It is not easy for me. I hope I can say hello to everyone but I do not have the courage to do that.
