I had a bad experience and a memorable experience of jaywalking in the philippines...when i was a college student and i cross the street then suddenly there was an officer talk to me that i shouldn't cross because i am walking without proper sign to go walk ,and then the officer drag me to the bus with lots of jaywalker
,i told the officer to let me go because I have a class to attend he must consider myself since it was my first time ,it must be verbal warning first but the officer never listen to me ,So therefore i was not able to go away with the officer and he gave me the 2 choices that i will pay 50 peso as a fine of violation or i attend a seminar for two hours.but then good thing that my classmate came next to me have been jaywalking too then my classmate decided to pay 100 peso as a fine so that we dont need enough time left to attend the seminar because we need to went back to school for our next subject class; That was memorable experience and i learn from it.
happy mylotters! share your experience

@LdeL0318 yeah ,its true.mostly, people in the philippines had not enough descipline probably due to excessive people and the president must solve the issue of violation.

I always follow rules even if I have to walk far to cross, one of the few times did it was when I was in college, a couple of guys were harassing me in the University belt and I could not fight all of them so I out ran them and crossing where it was not allowed, a very dangerous thing to do but I had to decide that time

@sarameastrong they were guys scaming students and forcing them to buy religious items at a very high price till they rob you all your money, they did not know i was a city rat like them
cause they prey upon innocent students coming from remote provinces and rural areas

I have a sort of phobia of crossing streets so i make sure that i cross only on designated pedestrian lanes and on appropriate traffic signal lights only. This phobia was made worse when i met an accident even when i was extra careful in crossing and already on the sidewalk. So i never violate the anti jaywalking law.

@sarameastrong My accident happened several years ago. It was memorable as it happened one day before my first day of work in a call center. So i went on duty with a very big and ugly wound on the back of my right thigh.

I've never experienced being caught jaywalking although I'm sure I've done that a few times over there..lol
But I noticed even now , over there, people cross the road anywhere they can ..

I didn´t know what (JAYWALKING) was until now. IF an officer see you doing JAYWALKING in my city, they would ignore you and never warn you of anything.
Wait! I remember, An officer warned me once, but usually, they don´t do. New generation of good officers.
