Donald Trump, win or lose, is serving a purpose …

No matter if we love or hate Donald Trump, if nothing else, he is serving a real purpose in this very long, very ugly, presidential nominating process.
Trump is, with all his bluster and buffoonery, shedding light on just how rotten, stinking, dirty and corrupt (to quote some of his favorite words) our political system really is – and people on both sides of the aisle are agreeing with him.
I admit to being no expert on the intricacies of the political process and I don’t want to be. I do know that our political/voting/delegates system needs a complete overhaul and as soon as possible.
We the people need to know how our political system works. We need to know that our votes do count, just like we’ve always been told. We need to know that the system isn’t rigged, biased or hell-bent on catering to super PACS and others in a position to tamper with our voting choices.

Yes, at least something positive may hopefully come out of all this.

You have echoed what I have been thinking for a long time. It doesn't matter if you hate Trump and don't want him president. He has performed a service by publicly standing up against political correctness, lambasting the biased media (both sides) and exposing the absurdities of the primary system. That should be appreciated by all regardless of political views and hey Bernie fans, Trump says he is in sympathy with Sanders in how he's another outsider being unfairly treated.

He is bringing up a whole lot of issues that desperately need attention. Since he isn't beholden to anyone, he can say anything he wants, which can often be a good thing!

@LindaCPearson It is time to revert to true democracy so that a wise person, even if he is a poor person, can have a chance to get elected as President

Why Americans are not giving Independent candidates a chance. Why it always have to be a democrat and a republican?

To be truthful, they don't get much if any media attention and not many people even know who they are.

I could never figure out the voting system and it should just be whomever gets the most votes wins. This is just political insanity

I'm not sure at this point. He's drawing millions close and millions not so close. I think it's a bit early to see what results his running and possibly winnng will have. I do think he's raising awareness to many issues that definitely need to be addressed.

@LindaCPearson So even the raising awareness bit has to be a good thing.

@JudyEv I think raising awareness on important issues can be a really good thing in the long run.

I agree, I may not like him but if he has the most votes the nomination should be his and there shouldn't be all this junk going on behind the scenes to give it to someone else or why even vote.

I like the fact someone who isn't a traditional politician is running though, maybe not him, but the concept is one I think is progressive,
