Last Friday I attended a Tea Party at the local quilt shop. The idea for the tea party came from 2 quilters that also attend the same quilt guild that I do. It was suggested to have the tea party on April 15, Tax Day, and not to sew, but to color in the adult coloring books to de-stress. The 2 ladies went all out of supplying the foods for the tea party: Cucumber sandwiches egg salad sandwiches chicken salad in won tons mini muffins eclairs cream puffs and tea with slices of orange, lemon and lime in it. They set it up so nicely too. In addition to the foods they provided for us, a store worker also bought 2 dozen homemade scones from her daughter-in-law. The shop owner had her own expense for the tea party by supplying 4 door prizes to be given out. They were quilt and sewing related prizes--patterns which included 2 pieces of fabrics to get you started on the project. It was such an enjoyable time. It's something that I would like to do a lot more often. I took my mom along and she had a great time too, and even won one of the door prizes.
