What's your favorite summer fruit? Mine is the nectarine. All my life thought this wonderful fruit only came in yellow. But discovered that there's also a white nectarine which is equally tantalizing and scrumptious! Hope you don't get tired of me sharing recipes. It's an addiction.
I’ve been smitten with lemon verbena ever since I tried it in an ice cream in France many years ago. When my attempts to grow it failed, I turned to the kindness of strangers. Or at least, I …

I like strawberries...I eat them year round but they are nicer in the summer, I don't know if they are really summer fruits as I've no idea when fruits are harvested

Strawberries are normally harvested in June or July, although with the advent of modern glasshouse cultivation I am sure they have become an all year fruit these days. There was once a time they were not available before May, or after October.

I enjoy strawberries but they're not my favorite. Back in the day, my mom and my aunt (her sister) used to go to the strawberry fields and pick them by the bushel. The farmer would allow them to pick the berries and charge them a ridiculously low price. It was way cheaper than buying them from the grocery store.

My favourite is also the nectarine, although they have been hard to get in the last few years.

@cmoneyspinner The prices have doubled but I'm sure it relates to the shortage.

@pgiblett - It's times like these you wish you could grow all the kinds of food you like.

Hard to get in Canada? Hmmm? I wonder why. Of course, California growers usually supply the stores in Texas with their harvest. (I think.) They are usually very plentiful here (wherever they come from). I'm always happy this time of the year because nectarines will be available to buy.

My favorite summer fruit is cherries. I love sweet cherries, and I can eat an awful lot of them! The only problem is that even when they are in season, they are rather expensive.

I like various fruits, including nectarines, oranges, mangoes, bananas. I can eat any of this fruits if I can find them at the store any day of summer. I might eat other fruits, as well, since I love to eat fruits.

My favorite avocado, but can be made as iced fruit drinks, I created a drink, simply mix with warm water and add a little sugar.
