If you can be ANY age.. how old do you want to be right now?

I was chatting with a friend in her late thirties. She was complaining about how her hair seemed to fall out more lately. She ended the complaint with "I'd do anything to be 18 again!" Then she asked me whether I would like to be 18 again? My immediate response was "hell no," I was quite an insecure 18 years in a bad relationship. no way do I want to revisit that shizza again. But it does make me wonder, If you can be ANY age.. how old do you want to be right now?

It depends whether it's to be that age again, or to go back in time to when I was that age. If I could go back in time I would go to when I was 15, so perhaps I could change my future when I was 16. 17 years and 3 days ago, I had a terrible accident when I was 16, and have had a varying headache every since that day. I would love to return to a time when my head wasn't in pain.

@Drosophila Yes, 17 years of a continuous (but varying) headache is annoying.

I would hate to go through all those years again. I would want to just be the age I am now.

You don't say what age you'd like to be. I think I was at my prime in my 40s, so that would do for me.

@Drosophila I'm sorry that you had a miserable early life. I'm fortunate to have enjoyed every age I've been, including now (70s).

@jaboUK thats great to hear! Well, I mean I had a pretty good childhood, I was just a miserable and emo kid.. that kinda carried on well into my teens. Before I finally stepped in and took control of my emoness.. then life was great from then onwards. but it did take years for me to learn to deal with negative emotions.. I simply don't want to repeat that process again.

I am pretty happy with now.. I was always miserable in my childhood, had a bad time in my teens. Basically whenever I think of the past, I don't ever go.. pharrr! I want to be that age, I just remember all the problems, which makes today's life much better

That's great to hear, you like the topic! I guess if you missed partying and doing crazy stuff in 18, then ya, you prolly wanna revisit that era again. me on the other hand, did a bit too much of that.. so I guess it's all good for now

@Drosophila it means you enjoy full life in same age while you pass so we just have to do what we not do at that time as we not have sense in that age so i am glad that you are happy with your age going at your way...

@birjudanak Thank you! I wouldn't go quite as far as saying am happy with everything that's happened. but, I find the older I get, the more comfortable I am with myself. so that definitely helps. I also find the things I regret, are the things I haven't done. not the things I have done. So ya I try to do what I want as much as possible, law and society permitting of course xD

@yalul070 22 is very young for a big commitment. But mind you when I was younger I was more ready for commitment than today.. The older I get, the more I shriek from the thoughts of responsibilities, which ultimately comes with commitment.

This is easy for me. I'd want to be 42 again so I could relive meeting my husband all over again. Our friendship and relationship was so much fun all the way through and I miss it so much. I can still remember all the goosebumps I would get running into him online and having long and silly conversations. Even our phone conversations were long and fascinating ones. So that's where I'd go in a heartbeat! :)

@Drosophila When he was still with me, I remember getting really angry with him over something silly. We had an argument and we walked away in frustration. And while we weren't talking, I suddenly thought of what life would be like without him. No socks on the floor. And it upset me so much that I immediately apologized to him and ended the argument. Prophetic. I thank God every day for that realization because if I hadn't thought of that, things between us might had ended on a sour note. Life fascinates me sometimes. xoxo

Right now, I want to be the age that I am, because I am still living my life and want to see how it goes and where it ends. At the end of my life, though, I probably would go back to childhood and live it all over again. Of course, I would want to retain the knowledge that I have accumulated over my life when I go back to my childhood, so that I can appreciate things more and worry about certain things less.

@Drosophila Don't get me wrong, there were some really bad times and awful things that have happened to me. However, overall I think that I am really blessed, and I have very much enjoyed the ride thus far, so I wouldn't mind doing it all over again.

Definitely not 18 hahaha. I'm 38 and so far i'm not complaining about hair loss or ageing. But if i be any age, I want to be 30 forever. I felt I had a lot of confidence at that age. Not that I don't have confidence now. But i just felt so good then. Now I have more priorities, more dreams but i feel like my time is running out so i want to go back to the time when i was 30.
