Welcome to this weekend’s Suddendeath poetry challenge, Achoo! Rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s poems. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are sneeze, nose, sniff, snort, cough. My entry is below: ------------------------------------------------------- “Achoo,” she said, a sneeze rocking through the night. The cat jumped off the couch, and ran with sudden fright. Her nose was red, her face was pained with allergies plight. She sniffed and coughed, she snorted as if she might Ride herself of colds and allergies, her seasonal blight. The sounds of congestion were strong and never slight. Tis the season for sniffs and coughs, for symptoms never trite I wish you well, for I have them too, and we all start feeling right!
