So far, so good.

Well, I've made it okay so far. I went to the bottom apartment where my neighbor let me in. He also had an elderly lady there with him too. She lives in a different building, but since her apartment is above ground she came over to his apartment below ground. At 8:15pm I finally came home. They extended the time for tornadoes to get us, but as of 9pm we've just been in a tornado watch, at least in my area of Oklahoma. There is a thunderstorm outside right now, and some people have reported baseball size hail. However, from what I can hear banging on my building, people in my immediate area are getting golf ball size hail. Which is better than baseball at least! The tornado watch stays with us until midnight. I look forward to getting the okay. Thank you for the prayers!

I decided long ago I am pretty much toast if a tornado hits the house. I don't have a basement or sub cellar, and the house really isn't that sturdy, so whatever happens, happens. We go through several watches and a few warnings each year.

I just don't want to be impaled by a piece of wood going into my head. It's people who get the grotesque injuries that freak me out. I remember the lady who had wood in her head, and I remember a kid having a pole go through his leg. It had to be amputated. Those stick in my head. Let's be honest, I'm a wimp!

@AmbiePam I hadn't thought about injuries like that. That would be terrible.

@AmbiePam Our warning system went off three different times last night, I guess there was a brief touchdown just north of town.

I hope you will soon get the Okay for being under the tornado watch . By the way , with those baseball size of hail , it would be so dangerous to be outside ? An umbrella won't do with a hail , right ?

Anything outside in hail is going to be damaged, and I have to think people are included. That kind of hail will take out windshields. That's what happened to mine three years ago.

@AmbiePam Oh . So when there's hail it's better to be inside the house or inside the office for those at work .

Thank you for your update, Amber. We are fine here. I am headed to bed. Bob already went. We are at the top of a hill so we are good as far as high water goes. My roof already needs a small repair, if we get hail perhaps I can get it covered with insurance. We have not had hail in my town, and we have not planted the tomatoes in the community garden yet.

Storms are brewing in many locations. I hope every stays clear of the hail.

Thank goodness for the kindness of that neighbour and the fact that your immediate area was spared anything worse.

I guess there are many people below ground who take in others during these warnings. Hail that size would do a lot of damage anyway.
