Something New

Having finished the UFO that my mother began, I needed a much wordier label than normal.
Embroidering my labels is customary, but this one would take me too long.
It was time to put on my creative thinking cap. Could I print a label that was washable with my home computer? Next....did I have everything I needed I my home?
White cotton fabric, check, freezer paper, check.
I copied a border and wrote what I needed. next I ran it all through the printer, used some fabric crayons to add some colour, and pressed with a hot iron. The ink was set. It did not bleed when I wet it.
Success.

Because I blurred the names of everyone in the label. My creativity stips short of Photoshopping the names into something else.

I'm sure the person receiving this gift will be thrilled as it's a work of art and comes with many memories. Great idea for making your label.

It looks fine! I didn´t know that these types of crafts could be made using the printer. It´s a nice piece of craft!

I had heard that it was possible. It took me two attempts to get the Results I wanted.

I printed the border on my computer. Then I wrote what I wanted it to say...the made by....... Then I ironed freezer paper onto the back of the cotton and ran it through the printer/ copier. Once it had been printed I coloured the green and pressed it with a hot iron with paper towel to absorb any excess ink. The process took me about 30 minuets. In future I could probably do it much more quickly.

Very clever. I never would have thought to do that and wouldn't know where to start.
