Probably a good thing I live in a house by myself with no neighbors on the other side of the wall(s) because some albums just insist you turn the volume up. TP&TH 'Hypnotic Eye' is one of those albums that about 45 seconds into the first song, the volume control gets a severe 'bump' and stays that way until both sides are over. This album has been out a few years now, and unfortunately was released the year AFTER I saw them on tour, so I didn't get to see any of this performed live, which is a shame...there's some very high-energy material here. And yeah...vinyl...the real deal for me.

I can understand the need to play some music at full volume. I wonder why this is?

@JudyEv If I had room to set it up...there's 9 power amps and 18 speakers cabinets, I use it to run sound for bands at shows

If I used the 'big system' I couldn't go full volume, it'd shake the house down

I'll have to come back to the link. The dearly beloved is still asleep. Odd how vinyl is making such a comeback!

@JolietJake My husband has recently been buying albums. He also repaired an old turntable he had from high school and gave it to the daughter of a friend of mine. He's been having a lot of fun with it.

I need to find a cheap used turntable and start collecting vinyl again.

Don't go too cheap, some of those 'all-in-one' systems out there are album killers

You are right, some musics MUST be played loud, but I have to be sure nobody outside our house hear the music.

I thought the show was excellent, but i was a bit worried...Tom seemed to have some unusual shaking going on with his hands...may have just been opening night jitters (first date of the tour and they hadn't been out for a few years). Never heard anything about it though, so it evidently wasn't a medical problem.

The cover is eye catching but I just got out of bed so I will ignore the link at this moment.
