A Hot Spot in Your Home

Do you have "Hot Spots" in your house? These are spots that collect mess, no matter what. It doesn't matter how often you clean them, if you blink your eyes its it covered with junk again. Hot spots are usually flat surfaces in a high traffic area. My desk is one of those hot spots in our house. Since its a flat surface sitting right in a well traveled doorway, things are always being lain on it. My husband throws mail on it. My kids put their dirty dishes and empty bowls on it. Any myself, being little inclined to clean when I get home from work, just keep shoving everything to the left hand side of my desk (since my mouse is on the right side. After a while things will start falling off in a messy avalanche, and I'll have to clean it again. I can get the mess down to a flat surface, but by the time I get home from work the next day, the hot spot has started collecting junk again. (Image is of my desk, in full messy mode, if it shows up.)

Every flat surface, everywhere in the house. Then the cat will knock it all down. Yes, my desk is that way and hubby has a worse one. Dining table, kitchen counters all of it, all the time.

Not really, in our home we are only two, my husband and I. We like to have everything in order and in its place.

My desk. It's full of craft items and I don't want to clean them up because when I do, I couldn't find my stuff.
