MyLot earnings mirror reality of life

Counting Money

Earnings from Mylot are always discussed. Right from point blank one liners – how much from newbies - to discreet revelation between the lines like I discern at times. There are the few quite upfront with what they earn down to the cents and also those who keep it private. However, it is not rocket science to know the broad parameters and how to fall in whatever range we deserve. MyLot has lowered the payout threshold to $1 for April and May and that means it is up for grabs for anyone with a bit of effort of course. My take on monthly earnings: Less than $ 1: It means lack of effort More than $1, less than $3: Decent effort and fair reward More than $3, less than $5: That is my range – Not easy but attainable logging in almost every day adding the fuel of discussion when responses peter out. More than $5, less than $10: Those who are for the long haul with posts that merit many responses. More than $10: Only very few can make the cut – requires skill and consistency; a hard act to follow. I have been on online sites now for six years with nearly a thousand posts. I want to enjoy my time more as the earnings are not much anyway. No amount of flailing our arms and legs can carry us far. Yes, I want to be more active as this site is quite inviting, addictive, and act as a spur to wake up in the morning with a spring in our steps or an excuse to delay sleep at night. But I do not want to end up as operation successful but patient dead, meaning, overstretch and reach a target without enjoying the ride. I feel the payment here reflects the reality of online sites now. There are no strict standards and our efforts decide the outcome and income! That is fair dinkum as far as I am concerned. What is your take?

In general I agree. I do wonder if it is more difficult for people who are not in the US and I also believe that the longer you are here the closer your connections feel to you and the more they make interaction with you a priority. People who are here just for the money often do not persist long enough for their labors to become easier.

I love being in touch with some old friends from other sites and making new ones and I especially love learning about people in other countries. I do like making a little on here as I am retired and every little penny counts but I have never made a lot on here. I made more on other sites but they are no longer with us. I do spend a lot of time with some people and have built a nice relationship with them even though I don't think I will ever meet them. Sometimes trying to visualize what they look like is fun too.

@ramapo17 I am also retired and want to spend my time on those that I had missed during my working life. Whatever I get for my efforts is a bonus. I do hope my efforts are rewarding for others too. I enjoy my time here for sure and fell blessed to meet so many people who are just like me confirming the oneness of humanity - siva

It looks like it is easier for those from the US but I had been in other sites from the US and UK where I used to get among the most comments, if not the most! As I mentioned, I have about one thousand posts but I don't like to recycle them but share my present thoughts - siva

Sure I agree , but not always are they results of hard work. A lot of undeserving posts get famous here, and a lot of good ones remain in the background. But here you are paid more fore fame than talent.

Those who have been here long term make more and that is fair as some flatter only to deceive. I had been on two other sites for three years each and it took me a while to make my presence felt. Newbies have to prove their worth and then results will follow - siva

I think those who make less than $1 probably come online just to read, and they do not have much to say after reading. They probably login once or twice a day too. I think the location matters too. Asians are likely to earn lesser than Americans even if they put in the same effort.

@Shiva49 These must be the ones who have a lot of time on hand, and $10 to them is a larger sum of money than for us.

@scheng1 what would be the reason why "asians are likely to earn lesser than americans even if they put in the same effort?"

Yeah, it could well be be true about location and how the algorithm works, but I find few from Asia are making over $10 per month - siva

I have always made it here and this time it is a little over 12. Not difficult at all.

@Shiva49 I believe in writing a few posts. I have a few who come to my post and that is enough for me. I also respond to others. How are you doing with Blogjob. It is easier there.

It should not be difficult if you have been here for the long haul and been active with interaction. It takes time to build our "portfolio" - siva

@allknowing That is what I did everywhere I am contented as I want to enjoy my time than try to overdo and reach out far and wide. I am not as active at Blogjob but it is easier to make a dollar everyday there; I hope to be more active over time - siva

It does take effort-like anything else in life. I have earned more than $10 but I enjoy being here so much-it's not work to me at all, it's fun! I make sure not to lose sight of the fun aspect here.

@LovingMyBabies I have never felt like this was work, even on the nights when my eyes are closing. I usually only get on here after 8pm as my husband goes in the other room to watch tv and usually ends up falling asleep. I am a night owl and have been on here till 2am.

I was also enjoying in all other sites I had been on. Though it was the interactions that kept me going the money aspect cast its shadow too as when one site stopped payment many either left or became inactive and that took the wind out of my sails. Yes, I am finding my feet here and this seems to fit what I look for in a site like a glove. It is like in the Goldilocks zone - neither too strict nor too lenient in the way it is managed but with clear oversight - siva

I am in the $ 5 to $ 10 range. Once crossed $ 10 too. But it's all good since I love interaction here the most. I made some really good friends and they overshadow the money aspect. Fun is always high on the list when I come here.

That is the right approach. I know you are more active here than me with "fun" element thrown in and also more variety. Maybe, I enjoy "too much" and at a slower pace but that I do even when I am down in the dumps! siva

Mine is between $5 - $7. I agree that it always depends on the effort we put in. If I am more active, I can certainly earn better. But, there are certainly other higher priorities in our life that we have to do, so I can't spend much time here. I have always been thinking, if I don't have other tasks or responsibilities, perhaps I can really sit down in front of computer and mylot the whole day. It's not to hit the target, but just that there are many interesting topics around here. I enjoy the freedom and interaction here.

I feel it is very fair here Siva I agree. Not only fair but much fun to interact with dear friends. In my mind, there is no site to compare to myLot. We get to know one another and also that is a bonus. The rewards are many. I wish you much luck and blessings in your online efforts. Good to know you here.

Kind of you Ocean Tiara, I do hope the site gains in strength too. There is clear focus and few who are not for interaction come to grief soon. I had enjoyed few of the sites and I interacted even in places where it was not the norm. So this site seems to suit me fine. Yes the rewards are many, not only in terms of dollars and cents. I too wish you luck and thanks for your encouragement - siva

That was fast and it should be quite late at night at Perth. To get paid itself is a blessing as few sites remind us of "only fools tread where the wise fear" - siva

Right you are @JudyEv. If a person is really looking for a pay check they should go out and look for a job, not a fun site.
