The hours at this eye doctors are terrible

The eye doctor where I take my daughter to has terrible hours. They are open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. My daughter gets home from school at 3:22 and it is an hour drive to the eye doctors office.
Due to this I have to get my daughter out of school early to go pick up her new glasses tomorrow. Then I have to be back home before 2:30 for a routine appointment with my doctor to refill my anti-depressants.
This is the start of a very busy week for my family.

I wish it was like that here. It would be really helpful if they were open on Saturdays. That would be a lot better for kids who have to get out of school to go pick up their glasses. I could go get them for her but I am not sure if they need to be adjusted or not. I think usually they have to look at her with them on to make sure she can see out of them correctly.

@shaggin Yes, usually they have to look at them and make sure they are adjusted right. I believe here most are open Saturdays but shorter hours.

That stinks that you have to go through that as well. I posted about it on facebook and a few people suggested some places that they really like. Next time she needs an exam I will check those places out.

I have noticed that often eye doctors and dentists do not accomodate kids who have to be in school or their families. Take a day at a time and breathe deeply.

That is why last time I chose to get her glasses at Walmart. This place her glasses were free with her insurance though where as at walmart I paid about $170. The school does not like them missing days so hopefully I can get a note from the eye doctor for why she missed school.
