The doc says I'll live!

This was to be my wellness visit to go over the results of my blood work last week. But as things happen, my wellness visit shared time with my sickness! He said my numbers are great - all, including the one for my kidney function! Then on to my symptoms...which he concluded (as I did) - seasonal allergies. He said that E. Tennessee is the allergy capitol of the US. Although I bet other areas of the country and world make that same claim! He said this is the worst year for allergies he's seen in a long time and it's far from over as the pine pollen just started. So: * Antihistimines (I chose Benadryl since one side effect is drowsiness and I hope it makes me tired enough to sleep! * Flonase - spray each nostril twice a day (used to be script only, now it is OTC) * Stay inside as much as possible My blood pressure was up, 144/88, but he said that's due to being sick. It is usually in the 120/70 range. Off to the store we went for the Flonase and now I'll chill out inside util I'm better. PS: He said it can still be my wellness visit. Our health insurance outfit gives gift cards after you complete your annual wellness visit. I just put in for mine, and picked Amazon since the only restaurant they give a card we don't care for. I can't wait to finally stop coughing.... Photo: //pixabay.com/en/doctor-medic-medical-medicine-40891/

I do like the fact one can get Flonase at Walmart and CVS now and stuff.

Yes, OTC is much cheaper than script.

@AbbyGreenhill actually for me it's not, but once you factor in dr visits too it can be. I get meds for 5 or less a month, my insurance is pretty good.

I would be happy if my blood pressure was that level, which would be a good low figure for me.

Once, several years ago it was 192/80 - I thought I'd blow!

@AbbyGreenhill Mine was recorded at that level several years ago when admitted to hospital for a brain haemorrhage.

Well, that is great. The pollen really is bad this year. I sneeze a lot and I am even taking an antihistamine!

I have learned that some of those meds for sinus and colds do increase my blood pressure. I hope you do get past this soon.
