Wow! I just made a sale on Amazon

I have been an Amazon Associate for two years. This means that I can offer items for sale from Amazon on my Hubpages account and on my blog. If someone buys an item when they click through from my page, I get a commission on that sale. Well, I'm not much of a salesperson, and I have only made a few small sales in the past. Sometimes people would buy something like a book or a CD, and I would get a few cents. This time someone read my hub on how to install peel-and-stick vinyl tile, and they bought $85 worth of vinyl tiles. I earned $6.90 from that sale. This makes me happy out of all proportion to the amount of money I made. One reason is that it was directly related to the hub I wrote, I inspired somebody to install their own floor! Have you had any experience with online sales? Do you think I'm being silly?

No, you are not being silly at all. You deserve the sales from your writing. I used to be on Squidoo and we were allowed to have Amazon links. I did a lot of sales there from my little posts. Keep doing it!

Thanks Marlina, then you know where I'm coming from. I was on Squidoo too, but came to it late and never made much money.

That sounds so great. I don't know how to be an Amazon Associate and I am very interested in it. Although the money is not so much, but it is fun to earn it in this way.

I guess some people do pretty well with it. It's not hard to be an Associate, you just sign up. I don't remember the particulars, because it's been a while since I signed up. You might have to have a little bit of a track record with a blog or website.

Congratulations on your sale + the nice commission you got!! I made a sale today too on Poshmark (where you can sell love and pre owned women's clothing, shoes, accessories). It's a nice feeling! Have a lovely day!

Yes it is good. I think what you are talking about is selling your own stuff, is that correct?

I have not, though I did become an Associate as well. My wife has done pretty well on Etsy though with some collectibles. Congratulations on the sale! I would be happy too.

I've only had a couple sales with Amazon Associates in the past couple of years but mostly it's because I never really put much effort into it. I'm still amazed I'm pulling in a couple pennies a day from a Hub I haven't touched in at least a year.

I don't think you are silly at all. I would be in 7th heaven if I thought I had inspired someone in this way - or any other way really. Good for you. :)

The hub I wrote that sold the flooring was about how I had laid my own peel and stick vinyl tile flooring in my kitchen. I remember when I did that, and took all the pictures along the way, so I could write about it. It was a great sense of accomplishment; I was so happy after I put in my new floor. I smiled every time I looked at it. Now I like to think somebody else is smiling at their new floor.

@norcal It would take some skill to do it really well for starters. Then you'd have to remember to take photos of each step and write out clear and precise instructions so a lot of work went into it.

Not even on eBay? I have bought way more than I've sold too.

@teamfreak16 It's a great way to get a special item onto the world wide marketplace. My husband used to do pretty well selling antique motorcycle parts there.
