This title is the name of a Facebook group I am in. We see lots of neat things that people post as they are out and about. Last week someone posted a picture of this old flour mill. It is no longer used to grind wheat into flour, but it is an "interesting" place in Kansas, and not abandoned. On Sunday you can make reservations and have a lovely meal inside. My husband surprised me and took me there today. It is a couple of hours drive but that was okay. It was rainy and so I felt really cozy riding with him to enjoy the dinner.

It looks great snuggled in among the trees and bushes. It's inviting me to explore.

It was set on the convergence of two rivers. I went to the top of the brick portion, but ran out of steam for stairs. I also understand that there was a room below our main dining room I did not see.

@MsTickle It was fun, and very thoughtful of my husband to make sure we went.

Glad that they turn it into a restaurant. It is a pity that when a building is left vacant, since the weather will make it inhabitable.

We have way too many crumbling buildings around. The restaurant is only open on Sunday as it is run by a high school business class.

@GardenGerty That is good. I think the food will be less pricey than those run by chefs!

Maybe the original mill owners never returned from Oz.

I think everything just got more and more mechanized. No need for river powered mills now. It is a shame, but leaves us neat places to see.

I have not heard any about this place, but supposedly Atchinson, Ks. is the most haunted town in Kansas.

I got to go up and look around a couple of floors higher. It is in pretty good shape. I did not go on up to the part that is red in my picture, but did go to the attic room that has the single window.

There is a lot of history in Kansas that revolves around wheat and flour mills.
