Oh no, Snow

Running away from home is always an adventure.
We headed NORTH for a get away (what were we thinking).
We were thinking of fishing, touring some history, walking down memory lane as we visit places we loved when we were younger. We were thinking of good food, good fun sightseeing and hiking.
What we got was rain, wind, cold winds out of the north. If you look at the photo you can see there is still snow on Blue Mountain, a ski hill we skied on years ago.
Our first hike on one of the trails in this area yesterday was blustery and the trails were flooded in spots due to snow melt and rain.
We are on the shore of Lake Huron, in an area called the "The Georgian Bay".
It will get warmer today, I just know it will but it doesn't matter if it does or doesn't, we're going to enjoy it.
Thankfully we packed warm clothes.
Note to self, in the future head south in May and head north in June....

I did bring layers. When living in the north you learn how to stay warm.. Although that wind off the bay was damn cold.

A buddy of my hubby drove up and met him at 5am at timmies and they fished for about 7 hours ( he said they walked at least 10 miles up two rivers, and didn't get a bite...) it is getting warmer and I will go with him probably tomorrow and just enjoy Mother Nature while he hopes to catch dinner.

I just saw your photo and discussion about skiing, and know what is here, it's like night and day in mountain speak...here we are a few hours north but it certainly is different from Niagara.

Don't you read the weather forecast before you plan your getaways? Or did you depend on it? (lol)

We made the reservations a month ago knowing it would be warm, Mother Nature fooled us.

I see it on the news daily, that fire is a nasty one. It finally warmed up here in Collingwood so it's been delightful. Hope it stays that way.
