The Buckley Heinous Crime!

I was perusing facebook just a few minutes ago when I came across something which gives me pause. I am still not sure what to think about it . It was a photograph with a caption underneath recounting the crime committed by two children on a Halloween Night. The tale goes that two children are getting ready for a Halloween night out with other children from the community. The children (as a whole) decided it would be fun to make it seem as if they had beheaded someone. The plan was to get a "dummy" and behead it. The Buckley Children, however, thought it much more "fun" to behead their own mother. The tale makes it seem that when the other children came to the door, the two Buckley Children beheaded their mother right in front of them. When the children realized what had happened, they called the cops, but the Buckley kids were long gone. Now I tell you all of this, but realize it is false. I did a snopes search on it, and will provide the link to it here. I'll also be providing a link to the artist itself, where you can see that you are able to purchase the altered photograph, at reasonable rates. I will say that I think the original photograph lends itself to a chilling air, but I'd imagine a much less sinister plot than the artist had dreamed up. We can't, however, forget that their are true counts of crimes from the past committed by the children of the family. Lizzy Borden's story comes to mind. (I added the artist's page first in hopes that mylot's script will pick up the original photo instead of the more grotesque one) http://www.snopes.com/photos/gruesome/halloween.asp The article explaining how it is false

Of course the photo is a fake, can you imagine the quantity of blood that would have covered the dress of the killed woman?!

For some reason, I didn't even think of that! I am not sure if it was because the picture was in black and white, or what. I did notice the severed head looked to clean to be.. well severed.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, it was surely not cut with the ax that the girl has in her hand. You can check online, a real cut heat is not something nice to look at.

@LadyDuck No, I would think not. Too much tissue and bone to go through.

How grizzly that must have been for everyone. Someone's mind is rather twisted.

So many of my friends and family, as well as just random pages on facebook post such far fetched stuff! I always go to snopes first. I figured it was fake, but the lack of blood didn't even factor into my mind at the time.
