We're Going to Have Babies!

As I raised our bedroom shades this morning, I checked to see if mama robin was sitting in her nest. She must have been looking for breakfast for herself, because what I found was a birds eye view of her eggs! I always loved that shade of blue eggs. I'm so happy no other animal got them. She is now in her nest keeping them warm. How precious is that?

You got a great picture. How nice that you can watch as the eggs open and the baby robins appear. Just don't let Doodles near.

He walks by them several times a day and never noticed mom in the rhododendron. Silly boy

He is clueless! The robin doesn't even fly away when we walk by her anymore!

His back legs are not too good, so he won't even try.

@miniam He chased a chipmunk up a shrub and stood on his hind legs looking at it. Grammy used a stick to help it down. By then, he lost interest. Poor slow boy. I keep an eye on him so he won't run away again!

That's so neat! I hope the nest and eggs are in a very safe place. That's quite a shade of blue - I don't think I've ever seen eggs like that in any nest out here! And you got the best view . . . you'll be able to take some great pics!

@DianneN It's neat seeing these life stages! I almost feel like a mommy to our 30 or so silkworms that are turning into moths . . . the ones that are now moths are laying eggs and I almost feel like a grandma !

You and a few others here are telling us success stories of having gone through the birth of baby birds with their parents. Do watch out and get back with more reporting.

I love when a nest gets built right outside our window. I haven't spotted one yet this year.
