My better half's granddaughters Batmitzah was today. It was to begin at 9:00 this morning so we drove down early to get a parking place near the synagogue. I had never been to a Batmitzah so it was all new to me. It was a lovely service with the Rabbis, Cantor and the granddaughters presentation. She did a great job. It was very impressive. My better half is Jewish but is not a practitioner. His daughter and her family are. Granddaughter is now considered of age in the faith as I understand it. She is 13 and a beautiful girl, next year it will be the other granddaughter turn. It was a good experience. Have you ever been to a Batmitzah?

The father of my husband was Jewish, but her mother was Catholic and that one was the religion they choose for my husband.

@RubyHawk My husband was born soon after WWII I think you can imagine that his mother thought that was safer to choose for him to be Catholics. The horror of what just happened was too high.

@LadyDuck I can imagine, my better halfs grandparents were made to dig their graves and were murdered by their neighbors.. It was a horrible time.

I suppose it's hard when you have to choose one or the other.
